The Walking Dead NEW Episodes (Are all new shows delayed?)

Well, I have been encouraging coworkers to give Vudu a shot, most use Google or iTunes for rentals and purchases. After explaining Vudu and the advantages, two of them were going to get The Walking Dead Season 7 on Vudu this time instead of Google/iTunes. Awesome! One actually purchased to "Own" the season on Vudu last night. Well...Vudu is the only one that does not have the first episode of season 7 as of this post. Amazon, iTunes, Google...they all have it available.

With that....the person who purchased the "Own" season is requesting a refund and already bought the episode on Google like they have in the past, and the other person, who was going to buy it this morning, went with iTunes since Vudu doesn't have it.

I promote Vudu whenever the opportunity arises, and this is somewhat disappointing. I am not sure if this is common, but if there is anything that can be done to ensure Vudu has the same shows available at the same time as the competition, that would really be a positive for Vudu.

I know this was only two people, (I am sure these are not the only two) but because of this "delay" both passed on Vudu for the entire season. This was going to be their entry into Vudu, but after this, they aren't as likely to sway from their "reliable and comfortable" source.

Anyway, I love Vudu, and I am just a bit frustrated as I thought I had two new people on board to give it a try.

The streaming services are not at all consistent and I don't know who it is to blame. For instance I purchased "The Flash" season 3 from Google Play and they were taking forever to add the episodes after they aired. The first episode was on Vudu and iTunes the day after but after several days, Google Play hadn't added it. When I would call Google Play about it they would say it's up to the content provider (The WB). When I contacted The WB, they said it was up to Warner Bros. So it was just another case of pass the buck and I ended up canceling the order and getting a refund. I will never purchase a TV season of anything prior to airing and instead will wait until the whole season is available after the season is over before making a purchase.

Exactly my thoughts. We had a specific window where we could watch it before real life things started happening today. We really didn't want to worry about the massive cliffhanger getting spoiled for us. As it is, we have to take our chances and wait until a lot later. It's been a long time since Vudu had a late WD episode but it had to be this one. This has to be the biggest season premiere this fall, so you'd think it would merit extra care and attention.

But, yeah, BAD introduction for the people trying it out for the first time. This wasn't the one to be late on, Vudu.

Well...it's good to know the delay is rare, but as you stated, it wasn't good timing. Like my coworkers, I want to have all my episodes for a season with one provider. Unfortunately, this late arrival did lose them as customers (for now), not only for one episode, but for the entire season. I did mention to them when I saw it become available, but they already went their normal route because of the delay and are not going to rebuy it here. Maybe next time.

The studio intentionally sent us the encode later than usual to protect the cliffhanger ending.
