50 Years of Star Trek (wrongfully titled Star Trek Anniversary Special on Vudu)

Today I purchased The Star Trek 50th Anniversary Special on DVD. The DVD came with an Ultraviolet code. The code said to redeem it at 'redeemmovie.com'. When I went to redeemmovie.com they gave me a choice of redeeming the code at Vudu, Flixster or Cinemanow. I chose Vudu, accept there was no way to redeem it here on Vudu. Vudu did not recognize the code. I chose Flixster as a back up seeing as the title does have UV status and thus should port over to my Vudu account. I was able to redeem the code on Flixster, but the UV hasn't been activated here on Vudu yet and as such it's not porting.

Please activate the UV on this title!

(Please note that there is no 'UV redeem' button at the top of the page.)

The redeem button has been added, but it's still not UV enabled.

This seems to be an increasing issue with Vudu.

I purchased the box set of Iron Giant. Vudu has this version as well as the older version. I also was forced to redeem on Flixster. It added as UV to my account, but Vudu hasn't or won't connect the movie to UV so I can only watch it on Flixster.

I created cases with Flixster, UV, and several with Vudu. No one is taking ownership or fixing it. Best Vudu could say was something to effect buy it again on Vudu or keep checking back and it will likely be fixed eventually.

Premium provider, not premium service / support.

If it's UV at Flixster and in your UV library and not UV in Vudu, that is Vudu's issue as they are becoming slow on enabling things as UV. I agree, not premium support.

Yep, it's UV on Flixster, and UV in my UVVU account. But on Vudu it doesn't have UV on it.

            Sucks.

NOTE: There is limited qty of them and it states there are <50 left.

I opened a support ticket and got this response:

"Thank you for contacting customer support, I hope this e-mail finds you well. Our apologies, but the movie ID's aren't matching up between your linked UltraViolet services, which is causing the content to not transfer into your VUDU library. I am going to send this case up to our Content Team so they can research your issue further. They will be contacting you as soon as they have actionable information for you."

I think it has less to do with the "movie IDs" and everything to do with the fact that Vudu hasn't enabled it as a UV title yet. If Vudu had it available to redeem on the day of release, this wouldn't be an issue. I'd just have redeemed it here. They did not. I use Vudu more than I use DVDs. These days the DVD is basically my back up copy. It goes in a crate in the attic and is accessible in case of an internet outage. I watch 90% of my movies through Vudu. So this feels like I wasted money on the DVD because I dijavascript: void(0)dn't even get the thing I primarily bought the disc for.

Also, Vudu needs to change the name. The title is not 'Star Trek Anniversary Special'. The title is '50 Years of Star Trek'. When you go to the 'Redeem Ultraviolet Copy' page and type in the 'Search for your movie or tv show here' field, you have to type 'Star Trek Anniversary Special' in order to find it. How many people are going to know to do this when they buy a disc titled '50 Years of Star Trek'? They will most likely go in, type "50", and when the only titles to populate are 'Bond 50' and '50/50' they will think Vudu doesn't even have it.

I'd call them and explain the UV issue.

As for getting the title changed, good luck, even if it were as clear as day.

I've got the same issue with Iron Giant. Even though the title, artwork, version, and running time are all the same Vudu states that the ID's don't want either. Been over a month and no change.

I honestly can't believe that this hasn't been fixed yet. In the past whenever Vudu has forgotten to activate UV status on a new title, they usually do have it added by the end of the day. This has been several days. Someone really dropped the ball here.

I just added to my ticket: "This should be a 5 minute fix. All you need to do is add UV to this title. Why is there a hold up on this?"

                        We'll see what they say.

Felipe, any chance you could step in? You're a guy who gets things done!

It's UV now, but still has the wrong title. Even the cover art shows the different title... LOL

Not anymore it seems. I've tried several times, several ways, and at different levels and I've gotten no where on these issues. Really annoying to have to goto another service to watch these movies when they are there and on Vudu but mislinked.
