Suggestion for sorting Movies in Roku App

I'm not sure how it's sorted in other apps...... but for the roku you can choose A - Z and it lists the movies in alphabetical order... but if you have a lot of movies it takes forever to find what you're looking for.... I would suggest to put some sort of feature off to the side that you can scroll through and be able to choose the letter (A,B,C, etc...) that the movie starts with...(when you choose A-Z, or maybe a feature that can be there all the time)

like this video, but maybe not quite this complex - maybe just choose a letter and every movie that starts with that letter in your collection shows up.... start the video at like 23 seconds..

would make it easier I think

Wouldn't it be easier to just voice search for the movie you are looking for and go directly to it?

clicking one button would be a lot easier then trying to type with a roku remote lol... that would take even longer then scrolling for it to begin with...

The voice search *is* one button and doesn't involve typing...

I've never tried it because you need to use the original remote, right? I use a Harmony remote for all my devices so it would never work for me unless I grabbed the Roku Ultra remote every time I wanted to do a search.

              26 UHD
              765 HDX
              2 SD

Correct, it's not something you can do with a Harmony, but what I was telling Sloner is he can use the Roku app on his phone. Nothing wrong at all with his request of Vudu, just thought I'd throw another option at him that might help.

Also, Lujan, did you know that with the latest software update the Roku Ultra will be able to control volume from the remote? I used to go the Harmony route too but that ability will push me back to just using the Roku remote...

I just tested a couple of movies using the voice search function of the Ultra and don't think I like it much. I asked for "Snow White & the Huntsman" and "Batman vs. Superman" and got multiple results with multiple streaming providers and didn't know which one of the results had the Vudu version until I selected the right one. It didn't even have the UHD version in the results either. I think that I prefer drilling down to the movie even with the over 700 I have in my collection. Maybe once the search feature is refined I may try again? I'm not sure what you mean by "... Roku Ultra will be able to control volume from the remote?" and what the advantage is with that since my Harmony already does that?

i guess that would work if it actually listed what I said.... but searching should be made as simple as possible, not complicate it more by having to use another device that's not the roku remote ... and my roku 3 remote doesn't have the voice feature..
