The BFG & Pete's Dragon Release Day Sale Price screws over Vudu Pre-Order Customers

OK, this really kinda ticks me off. The whole idea of the Vudu Pre-Order promotions for The BFG and Pete's Dragon was to give some of your customers a break in the $19.99 regular price for these titles. So, certainly I would love to save $3 off of the normal purchase price so I did take advantage of these Vudu pre-order offers.

So, I get charged $19.99 for each title yesterday by Vudu and now I have to wait a few more days to receive my $3 promotional emails.

So, I get on Vudu today and find out that if I hadn't pre-ordered both of these titles from Vudu, I could have picked up each of these exact same titles on Vudu for $14.99 and saved an additional $2 off each movie.

Sorry, but that sucks and totally discourages me from pre-ordering Vudu movies with this promotional savings. Vudu should at least compensate the pre-order customers by giving us $5 each instead of $3 each.

Actually since it was a pre-order and the sale was not complete until after the price change VUDU should have charged $14.99. That's Walmart's policy so since VUDU is part of Walmart the same should apply.
I would definately complain directly to VUDU support.

The issue is that the price changed at 12 AM PST/3 AM EST on Tuesday. The movies however became available for purchase/pre-order redemption as of Monday at 9 PM PST/12 AM EST at 19.99 for that three hour window. So technically it was 19.99 for purchase, and then later went on sale. I hope people are able to get their price adjusted regardless though.

I ordered these weeks ago and was told that I wasn't eligible for the sale price when I called to complain today. They said that I bought them at the Preorder price of $19.99 and it didn't matter that the sale price on the release date is for $14.99. They offer no preorder price guarantee. The person I spoke to was Charlotte and when I asked to speak with Cody, the supervisor, I was on hold for 20 minutes and then the line went dead.

Not sure why they would treat loyal customers this way but I was told no refunds would be issued.

Same thing for me. I opened a ticket this morning as well wanting a refund. They can keep the credit that I may or may not ever get anyway. VUDU will lose me as a someone who would ever preoder a movie again from them.

                Hey everyone,

We apologize for the confusion on this. Pre-orders should have been changed to the $14.99 pricing along with the $3 bonus. For those customers who pre-ordered either of these two titles, you will be receiving an email with a $10 credit.

Just spoke to someone on the phone who told me the same. Thanks for the response.

I received my code for Pete's Dragon. We will also get codes for BFG if we ordered both correct?

Here is the email that I received from Vudu a little while ago.

"You pre-ordered the Pete's Dragon Pre + 3 offer on VUDU. Unfortunately, there was an error when the pre-order was processed and you were charged $19.99 instead of $14.99. Yeah, we kind of fat-finger typed that one.

To make good and thank you for your patience in this matter, we're issuing you at $10 credit. This credit includes $5 for the price difference, as well as your $3 pre-order credit, and a little extra because you deserve a nice round number."

So, in my case, I pre-ordered both Pete's Dragon and The BFG and I received (2) emails for a total of $20 credit for redemption. More than fair. Thank you, Vudu for clearing this up!!
