Silence of the Lambs - first non-UV UHD? MGM title.

Of the 80+ titles offered in UHD at VUDU (c'mon SONY!), this appears to be the very first that is not a UV-enabled title.

Are more coming - or will it be gaining UV rights?

If anyone buys or rents this title in UHD, please let us know how the video quality is as it seems the older titles don't benefit as much from the increased resolution & HDR as the newer titles.

I tend to agree with a film preservationists like Robert Harris who say that HDR shouldn't be applied to something that didn't have it originally. 4K ok, though...

Since all of the Vudu UHD titles have Dolby Vision, HDR is being added to all of them. I would still like to know if it's worth the high price and double or triple dip? Like I mentioned earlier, the older titles don't seem to benefit as much. For instance, I didn't think the upgrade to UHD for Independence Day was very good.

Found this after my original post. Some good reading...

For me personally I would rather have a good 1080p image than a 4k one with HDR incorrectly applied, and that would go even without the huge price increase. If only we still had the 2 min preview, right?

Just bought it last night. Does it look as good as the UHD versions of GoodFellas, A Few Good Men or Lawrence of Arabia? No. But this is the best The Silence of the Lambs has ever looked (if you watch past the first few minutes -- those opening credits are still awful) or will probably ever look.

Thanks, I bought it yesterday as well but will be a while until I get to watch it since there are so many ahead of it.
