UHD No Longer An Option On Xbox One Update

Today, Microsoft released a new software update to the Xbox One S.

Before the update I could stream in UHD. Now the option is no longer available to stream in UHD. It just defaults to HDX. I have a Xbox One S. Will this be fixed in a later software update?

    Thanks!

    Could you try the following:

    - start the VUDU app
    - wait in the home screen for a while (10-15 seconds?)
    - go to your movies to see if UHD is shown

If this works, then it is known and we are working on a fix (is related to HDCP negotiation sometimes taking longer with the new Xbox firmware, and UHD isn't supported unless HDCP 2.2 is enabled).

      Hi Dunn,

What version were you updated to? I tested with 10.0.14393.2152; and as Jake mentioned, after loading VUDU, UHD content will take around 10 seconds before it shows as available.

        Hello Jake,

Thank you for your response. I waited as mentioned and it still only shows HDX.

Below is the version I was updated to. I am on the preview Xbox One builds. I've been on the preview builds since they started rolling them out.

          Version: 10.0.15055.1000

Future Xbox One S updates have resolved it. Star Trek Beyond was only UHD for the Vizio redemption and it's not UV enabled.

I've checked multiple movies and only show HDX as the highest setting on my One S as well. Any fixes coming?

Is there a fix for this yet. I know this was working before as I bought and watched Suicide Squad in uhd but just picked up Fate of the Furious in uhd and been trying to watch it all week with no luck. It does take quite awhile for it load if I go right into my movies they all show as needing to be purchased. Tried waiting at home screen as suggested and that did work for it to show that I had it in n uhd but it still only plays in hdx and only shows sd as option to switch it too.

I fixed it on by my tv , LG UH8500, and a friends who has a Sony not sure which model. Quit the Vudu app than go to the Xbox setting. Display and video. Change the color dept to which ever you are not on at the moment. Myine has to go from 30bit to 36bit. My friends when from 36bit to 30bit. Doing that for UHD showing up in Vudu for the both of us. Remember to quit the Vudu app if you need to try another color setting. Good luck
