    Instawatch issue

Reposting here to see if a mod can answer.

Last night I purchased the Watchmen Director's Cut from Walmart.com. My Instawatch copy didn't appear in my library even though my accounts are linked. After owning a ticket a received notification that the movie was now available to add to my library. The issue now is that the wrong movie was added. I bought the DIRECTOR'S CUT but received the THEATRICAL CUT. The only reason I bought this movie was to have the digital copy accessible on Vudu.

Here is my current ticket # 170501-000991

    Any help would be appreciated.

Just like digital codes, some InstaWatch purchases only give the theatrical versions. Next time, ask here to see if someone else can answer which IW version you will get. Maybe support will be nice and switch them, but I'm betting now.

This is still pretty common. Buy a 3D disc and you almost always only get 2D. There's quite a lot of UHD disc's that only give HD. Blu-ray often has audio tracks not available on digital. IE Pirates 3D on disc gives 7.1, but on Vudu it's 5.1. Likewise as previous poster comments it's still fairly common to only get one digital version when there are many two on the disc, or get the theatrical on digital when it was unrated on disc.

If you still want everything you have to buy physical discs. Otherwise only buy digital which is close enough, or just accept whatever digital you might happen to get, or wait and ask others either here or on other forums like bluray.com

        Re: Instawatch issue

I didn't think I had to ask in a forum when this movie was explicitly advertised as having a digital copy. It didn't say that the digital copy would be a different version of the film. This is some serious bait and switch and I'm irritated that I have to jump through hoops with vudu to get it rectified if it ever even will be. I guess the lesson here is don't buy from Walmart or Vudu. In the future I'll only buy from stores other than Walmart that sell blu rays with digital copies so if there's an issue I can just return it in person instead of turning the whole process into a circus.

They pretty much always tell you. It's more or less a legal requirement. It's usually in tiny print in a a large paragraph on the back botton of the slipcover or case. Sometimes on a sticker stuck on the shrinkwrap often discarded.

Just bought this tonight, nothing on it other than the standard instawatch sticker, no fine print stating a different version, just says digital HD, it's a bait and switch.
