28 Days Later - the movie

I purchased 28 Days Later and ReAnimator movies recently when VUDU was running a Zombie films promo, 2 movies for $10. I tried watching 28 Days Later recently and the quality was absolutely horrible, resolution equal to a bad VHS copy. I emailed VUDU support the next day and other than an automated response got no other message from them.

Anyone else with a copy of this film on VUDU? If so how do you perceive the quality? Thanks.

It's supposed to look like that. It was shot on small digital video cameras to give it a you-are-there, shot by amateurs using whatever equipment they had with them, look...

I watched the Blu-ray when it first came out. I thought the quality was horrible. I couldn't finish it. Later I read that it was the intended look. The movie just doesn't look good regardless of the format.

It doesn't matter what was used to make the movie if it was intended to look the way it looks.

Go to the last five to ten minutes of the movie... that was the part shot with the highest resolution camera... it wasn't meant to look bad. That's the part that will look HD. The rest of the film looks terrible almost VHS quality. Like everyone said, it's how it was intended to look. It looked that way in theaters too when it came out...

Thanks for the input (and link) guys. I guess I'll just chalk this one up to a bad choice on my part. Shame.

                  It's not a shame. It's a great movie.

Do you complain that movies should all be in color? Widescreen? Stereo? 5.1? Some things are creative decisions and some are a product of their time. Regardless, that's how it was filmed. It doesn't affect the enjoyment of the movie. That's how it's supposed to be.

I'd rather watch that than its sequel.

                      This makes no sense.
