    Re: Announcing Clean Versions?

I would plead with the Studio's to keep these Clean Versions, and add more. They aren't removing the option to watch the original version! Why should I be forced to watch obscenity just because the director is a foulmouth?

I don't care if the censored versions continue as Extras, if people and Sony want it, so be it, but I am so glad to see the "+Clean Version" removed from the main artwork. It looks so much better not seeing it in my library. Thanks VUDU.

        Re: Announcing Clean Versions?

So now that Sony has removed 7 out of the 24 movies from their own Clean Movies homepage is VUDU going to do the same? I just bought like 3 of the 7 movies on Bluray that were removed from Sony's page just because they had clean versions now. I guess I should have waited on buying movies from Sony's Clean Movie list. And if I and others had waited Sony would have probably claimed the sales of the clean movies weren't good enough and ended the Clean Movie program. At least it sounds like Sony will continue it for now as long as the directors of each film sign off on it so there is still some hope that many more movies will be added in the future.

As for the directors who are complaining about their movies being cleaned up, it is rather strange that either them or one of their representatives signed off on this BEFORE Sony started publicly selling the movies and then only complained AFTER they had been out for a few days or a week. Too bad Sony doesn't do the right thing and tell them that they had their chance already to complain about their works of art being destroyed (WHICH THEY AREN'T BY THE WAY). And even if they are edited these directors are too ignorant to realize that we are buying the unedited movie versions to get the clean versions anyways whether it is by an UV code included in a DVD or Bluray or a digital purchase on VUDU.

          Yes! It's a win-win for everyone IMO.

            Re: Announcing Clean Versions?

I don't approve of editing movies, but having the UV copies of several of the affected titles it was kind of nice to have the clean versions available as an extra- I checked out some of them to laugh at how they handled some lines of profanity. Now however they are GONE- which shows once again why I will never switch to buying movies exclusively via digital rather than disc. They can add stuff but also take it away.

Who exactly is forcing you to watch movies with foul language?

I enjoyed the clean version of (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon) do to the English dub added to the film, glad I watched it while I had it. To bad we can't get other foreign films with English dubs as a option for the language of choice, would purchase even more.
