Sorry Jake...meant to post this link.
Yeah, I'd love to tell you it was a simple app update but it's not. Our current app fully supports UHD on Samsung, but we can't enable it until the TV firmware works properly. We have been trying for over a year to get all of the 2016 TVs supported. At this point I'm not sure UHD/HDR will happen natively on 2015 TVs. Your best bet may be trying to get it working with a Roku or other STB via HDMI...

Thanks Jake for your input regarding the issue...just frustrating those of us with some of latest and greatest equipment aren't able to play in the same sandbox as others. Seeing how it's unlikely our 2015 TV sets will get some love...was hoping at least the Samsung 2016 k8500 bd player would and act as that STB you spoke of. Thanks again.

The 2017 Samsung BD players do support UHD. The BD player would need to support Samsung's "Tizen" platform to run the VUDU UHD app. I think the 2016's are still on the old "Orsay" Samsung platform - if that's true the would not work unless Samsung updates them (probably not likely, but who knows).

Any updates on the 2016 KU Samsung line up and UHD support yet.
Plus we are still on the old UI.
No news in almost a year. Is it time to give up and buy a 4K disc player?

From what I have heard Samsung is testing a firmware fix that will allow us to enable UHD on more Samsung 2016 TVs. Unfortunately I don't know when that would be released (I'm assuming later this year) but once it is we should be able to enable 4K in the Vudu app.
