UHD rights For Purchase, NO To Redeem

    So everyone is aware,

I tried to redeem my Lego Batman Movie UHD Digital HD Code at Vudu and the code errored out and end up in code limbo for weeks with back and forth with Vudu several times.

    According to Vudu:
"... we (Vudu) don't have the licensing rights to "redeem" in UHD, but we do have it available in UHD to purchase so if it is redeemed in UHD on another site it will transfer to us in UHD."

But if i you attempt to redeemed on Vudu the code becomes invalded and ends up in your saved promos and can not be applied, or reused.

Be aware and very careful with redeeming your UHD codes on Vudu instead of the studio. People often say that WB has been safe to redeem on Vudu and the best place to redeem them.

Thanks for the info and taking one for the team. I wish Vudu would just offer UHD Disc + Digital as that would partially help mitigate the problem.

This is nothing new. It started with Batman vs. Superman. Redeeming on Flixster gave the UHD rights. If you are a Vudu purist, then you end up not getting the UHD edition. I rather get the UHD version then deal with risking not getting the UHD version.

Trust me it's not only UHD but HDX has done this to me more than once and Vudu responds with its not their fault.

Thanks for the heads up! This is the kind of crap that is so bad for the consumer. Total confusion, total mess in its implementation!

As the customer, I expect when I buy a disc, I should get that equivalent in UltraViolet ( and therefore VUDU ). I'm like 50/50 with my 4k bluray purchases! VUDU says "not our fault" and the big studios don't reply. We're just f'd!
