    Re: The Lion King DMA

I'm confused. My BEAUTY & THE BEAST in DMA is the new version (though I redeemed the old version years ago), but the original version is included as an extra in DMA.

With LION KING, DMA retained my original version from years ago, and there are the few extras it came with, but DMA didn't give me the new version or those extras, which supports what their email says.

    Did their policy change?

      There is no policy.

Last year they randomly decided to pull the original Beauty and the Beast from everyones DMA and replace it with the new version.

That is the only time anything has ever been replaced.

Everyone gained the new, shorter version of BATB at all linked retailers, and all other retailers EXCEPT vudu retained the old version if you already had it linked to your DMA account.

I imagine Disney got so many complaints that it hopefully won't happen again.

Really sucks. I hope Disney and iTunes can get this fixed. I work 6am to 6pm, I doubt they are open by the time I get home. I tried talking to them through their Facebook, but they said to call.

I still haven't got my special edition BATB back from vudu yet. Very frustrating.

Yeah, I wish we got the new bonus features. It seems silly to think that people will pay for the movie again just to obtain new extras.

As far as I can see....you can't search for the old version anymore. But if you sort your library A-Z, it should still be listed (mine is).

You can also use the links posted earlier in the thread to double check you still own it in Vudu.

I also notice that in iTunes, the cover art was updated to the new signature cover. Not sure of any other changes unless someone can point me to something to look at in the movie itself.

              EDIT:
So based on my DMA account - DMA has both listed:

              OLD: https://www.disneymoviesanywhere.com/movie/lion-king
              NEW: https://www.disneymoviesanywhere.com...lion-king-2017

It shows I only own the older release. However, when I look at the bonus extras listed for the 2017 release, these match my DMA title in iTunes. So it looks like iTunes switched over to the new release, whereas DMA and Vudu are linking to the old release.

Also looks like my copy in Amazon has switched to SD (or it's always been SD and I've never noticed) and it's the older version.

The link to the new version in DMA is currently giving "Our server is experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later." maybe they are fixing it? I see in iTunes they changed mine (at least the cover) to the new version and the old version is gone, but still in Vudu I have the old version. In Amazon I still have the old version in HD.

                  Re: The Lion King DMA

So after a lengthy phone chat with DMA customer service, I went away with this info:

Beauty and the beast (Special edition getting removed):

DMA have done nothing on their end to change the version and I have to contact Vudu about this issue. They also said that itunes and other providers have the extended version in the extra features and they simply couldn't understand that there were two separate versions on Vudu, no matter how hard I tried to explain.

                  Lion King:

There is no difference apart from the extra features and they don't offer upgrades on DMA... however it is up to the individual services to upgrade the original version and just add the the extra features, this is what itunes and others apparently chose to do. Good for them!

So if you are an iTunes user then lucky you! you are all good... but if you are a Vudu only user like me you lose the special edition of beauty and the beast and have to re-buy the lion king just for the extra features.... Can't wait for this to happen to the other 50+ Disney titles in my collection in the future.

***Lastly I was told that they (DMA) have had no communication at all from Vudu about any of these issues and that I need to contact them about it. Which would mean that all these months waiting for an update on this has been a big waste of time.
