It is strange . I also ported the movie in and it does not allow the extended cut to play if I enter the film via the iTunes store (There is a badge in the upper right that says 'Full Experience with HD Purchase".)....

BUT if I enter via my library I can enter the iTunes extra area for the film and play the extended cut. Hope this helps.

I have the special edition but not the 3 hour tv edition that is on iTunes. I also found it came out last month on Blu-ray with the special edition: https://www.amazon.com/Superman-Movi...perman+special

Looks like my issue was that I was looking at it in the store section and it shows the information but there is no 'play' option there for some moronic reason. I wasn't aware I had to go into the library section then click on the extra's option there get to it unlike every other service or site.
(And dear god does iTunes app suck.. 10 years behind on design and confusing as heck. Why the hell is is there a movie library section that is totally different in options and design than the 'library' and the 'play' option opens a whole other window with menu's and options that isn't like the rest?? Sort options are essentially entirely missing. It is far on the bottom of the order of the 4 stores and that is saying something as the Amazon UI is pretty terrible on the web and Xbox </rant>).

I'm in the "Library" section, and I see the iTunes Extras blue button, but I can't figure out how to view any of them. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks

Wow, I didn't even know about that. I hope Vudu can get the TV version added, maybe as an extra as well? They have done it got other titles.

Well , of course, besides owning the title first, the second thing I found that can be an issue is you need to make sure that the hardware you are viewing on is authorized within iTunes. You can test this also just by playing a main movie. If the movie you own plays, then you are authorized and it is something else.

Apologies if I was not clear. I own Superman: The Movie via Vudu. It ported into iTunes via MA link. Despite owning an iPad, I never use iTunes, but, I was intrigued because iTunes offers you the extended cut as an extra when ported in from elsewhere, so, I went on the iPad and I could confirm that iTunes extras are included, I just don't know where/how to access them.

As CBrown says, the interface is atrocious. I thought everyone buys Apple products for Dad and Grandma because they're supposedly easy to use? I found it completely counter-intuitive. There is the app for the store that you can play videos in, but, you need to be in the videos library in the TV app (which also has a link back to the store in it) to play extras? What in the blue heck is that?

                  .
On the iPad you have to start playback, after which the menu options should appear at the bottom of the image.

No problem. It took me a while to figure out accessing the iTunes extras on my iPad as well.

What If has now been added on Vudu's end.

Superman: The Movie (Special Edition) is now MA on Vudu and appears on MA's site, but it doesn't seem to be porting to MA. At least not for me.

Same issue with The Back-up Plan and Faster.

Edit: All 3 finally ported, but I guess MA doesn't add newly added MA titles to the top of your recently added, as it put them in the middle of my collection, they must be adding them and it's placing them in as the date you originally bought them from their main source.

Thanks. Mine has not ported yet maybe soon. I noticed that they have the original theatrical incorrectly marked as "restored with additional footage". Oh well, at least the running times are correct and the correct film under each heading.
