    Latest Database Version

I am a new user - I bought my Vudu 2 days ago as a Christmas gift for my husband. I wanted to get it set up before he gets it - so we are ready to rumble Christmas night after stuffing ourselves with turkey...

I have left the Vudu hooked up in the study (hidden behind the desk...) and bring it out at night after he has gone to bed to check on the database update progress.

    My question is...

Is there somewhere on-line to find out the current database version? (... so each individual person doesn't have to keep asking the same question and the moderators then reply for that specific date!)

    Re: Latest Database Version

Great idea! I requested this from the folks at Vudu yesterday, as we moderators don't have the same SW/Database as the rest of the Vudu users, so we lose track. I expect this to be posted in a prominent location soon. For now:

Your software version should be 1.1.1

I'll have to check on the correct database version.

The problem is that it is constantly changing. I am not sure what version public users have (beta boxes are sometimes a version or two ahead to test things for y'all), but we are trying to get this information given to us regularly on the publicly released firmware and database versions.

As soon as we have something, we'll post it and let you know. Generally the first update takes around 24 to 36 hours but after that it's done in a couple hours.

Can any of our "veteran" customers (up and running for weeks!) go to Info & Settings>System Info and tell us what DB you see?

Just got my box today and I'm pretty sure the software version was up to 1.1.2 after initial setup. I'm trying my best to resist temptation to play with it for now so I can get the updates as fast as possible. I will probably play with it a little later tonight again.

Please verify if you have 1.1.1 or 1.1.2.

SW 1.1.2 should not be released yet to customers...

That's weird I could have sworn...oh well only 1.1.1 after all. And here I thought I was special hehe. Now to let my new baby download again. Go Vudu go. 6.4 GB so far. I did watch two trailers today. So when a database version shows on the info screen, is that when we know the initial update is complete? Or do we need to look for other things like the new TV section mentioned here, The Bourne movies show up etc?

It's a little more complicated then that. When the new DB version shows up, you have the catalog that includes all of the newest content. However, some of those shows will say "coming soon" instead of "available", as the header for each show is still being downloaded (about 15~30 seconds of content). As the headers complete, the shows will drop the coming soon.

Just complicated enough to drive you crazy with anticipation, eh?

Is there any way to tell the difference between a "coming soon" because the header is still downloading, and a "coming soon" as in the movie is not yet released to view on Vudu?

Yeah, the movies in the second category will have an available date shown in the details.

As of 12/19, the field release are:
                      - SW 1.1.1 v18056 and
                      - SDB 1422

We are working on a way to automatically post/update this information in an easily accessable location.

                        OK - thanks for that.

So, theoretically, all of the Episodes of '24' are available now ...
I am just not able to play them yet. Correct?
(they all say "Coming Soon" with no date)

FYI, it has now been 72 hours since I first plugged in my Vudu, without watching any movies.

All of the first 6 seasons of 24 are available NOW, you just need a little bit more patience. Season 7 (which I think is in the can) is not available

                              Andrew,

                              Are you a beta tester?

I wasn't aware this build was launched to the public yet. It should come down overnight and not be forced on you like it sounds...
