If you could change ONE thing about Vudu...

Borrowing on a topic over a Engadget (http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/01/04...u-set-top-box/)

If you could change ONE thing about the Vudu what would it be?

For me it's simple. I'd like for every single movie in the library (excluding TV episodes for now) to be both available for rent and for purchase.

For me it would be IR Remote.

      only one thing...

being able to take purchased items off this platform.
without being able to move something i bought to another platform/device it is just a long term rental stuck on Vudu.

Portability of content. I want to be able to d/l to my Mac and put a video file on my iPod or make a DVD for playing in the car, etc.

            Gotta be price.
Price of hardware and price of 24 hour rentals are both way too high
The price of the announced new release HD movies is too high.

There should be a subscription based rental plan that allows so many hours a month.

Everyone I've shown vudu to likes the quality, the convenience, the selection (good enough, not great) and the remote. The only complaint I ever hear is $400 for that! And you still have to pay for movies?!?

                Everything above plus:

                1) Longer rental periods (even at the expense of being able to watch just one time)

                2) TV shows in HD plus some sort of a season pass option

                3) I'd be down with free ad-supported movies and, especially, TV shows.

All the good ones have gone already - but how about this:

The ability to allow restricted access for your kids - e.g. when I am not around, the kids can put on any children's movie (they wont see horror/porn/LBG) but they are limited to xx number of credits - in effect I can give some of my prepaid dollars to a family member.

I like this. Limited viewing, unlimited rental until viewed.

Or even 30 day rental. But don't delete until watched once all the way through or until 30 days is up. Whichever comes first.

It's a rental. We don't want to watch it more than once, but we want to be able to see the WHOLE movie.

                              Speak for yourself!

If I rent something for my kids, they might watch it 3 or 4 times in 24 hours...
