Audio not Synched with Video for HDX Transfer of Baron Munchausen

    Hello Vudu Engineering,

I recently upgraded my DVD of "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" to HDX via the Disc to Digital program. Unfortunately the audio leads the video by at least 30 seconds (the audio literally begins during the FBI warning screen) for the HDX transfer, the SD and HD streams are synchronized properly. I'm using an Oppo BDP-93 player to stream to my Panasonic plasma and don't have any audio synchronization issues with any of the numerous other HDX transfers I've watched.

I emailed tech support only to receive a form letter asking to check my HDMI audio settings which is not the issue. I figured I'd post here so some one could verify the encoding of the HDX transfer.

    Thanks for your help

Re: Audio not Synched with Video for HDX Transfer of Baron Munchausen

I had this happen when I rented MI Ghost Protocol last weekend. I had to power cycle my Panasonic Blu Ray player by unlplugging and plugging it back in, and then it worked.

Don't know if that will help you but give it a shot...

Re: Audio not Synched with Video for HDX Transfer of Baron Munchausen

I looked this up and the HDX version was pulled down a while ago due to the A/V issue (you can't buy the HDX version currently on the service, just HD and SD).

I reported this to our content team to get the HDX re-encoded. Beyond that, my only suggestion (besides getting a refund if you no longer want it) is that you can manually switch to the HD version until the HDX version is fixed...

Re: Audio not Synched with Video for HDX Transfer of Baron Munchausen

Thanks for the reply Jake, just glad to hear that Vudu will eventually encode the HDX transfer properly. As for the refund offer, thanks again, but I enjoyed it in HD just fine.

          Peaceful Warrior HDX Not Working

I had a problem watching my HDX version of "Peaceful Warrior". At the 1 hour and 18 minute time stamp, the audio was just static. I called Vudu tech support and they tried it (the SD version) and said it worked fine at the same time stamp. I then tried another device and the static was still there. He then asked me to change it from HDX to HD and it worked fine. It seems that it's only the HDX version that needs to be re-encoded. He asked me to wait a week while they re-encode and I asked if they could send me an email when it's done and then I will watch again. Not too good for a company to be releasing movies to customers when they apparently don't check whether the movie is working right before selling it, IMHO.
