    Sony Ultraviolet - Great News

I haven't seen this anywhere so i figured i would create a new thread since this only works with sony.

If you look at your code and the 3rd digit. I was told just now by sony that this is how you can tell what format your code will come in.

If the 3rd digit is a B - It will be in High Definition
If the 3rd digit is a D - It will be SD
if the 3rd digit is a 3 - It will be in 3d

so you can look at your current codes and confirm how true that is but i have two awakening codes

the one i first bought ended up in Sd and was not happy
this is the first 4 digits (uadp)
I got one from a blu-ray this is the code (uab7)

the one in hd was indeed the letter b one

    Hope this helps

Wonder if you can swap or change the 'D' to a 'B' and get HD?

This can't be 100% correct because I have a code for 21 Jump Street and the 3rd digit is an N. I checked to see if I could redeem it early on the Sony Website (It let me) and it shows as HD. Unless this is their future plan?

I dunno then. I've looked at all my codes

          The Vow
          Underworld: Awakening
          Underworld: Legacy Collection
          Men in Black II
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
          Jack and Jill
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
          Moneyball
          Drive
          Friends With Benefits
          Colombiana
          The Underworld Trilogy
          Ghost Rider

all have b at the 3rd letter when its in hd

          I have ghost rider
and woman in black with d as 3rd letter as I upgraded.
by getting a new code and calling sony to make sure the next code was hd
          before i redeemed it

This was my ghost rider sd code
          grdm 4g0d t767

GR for ghost rider and d for dvd

Here is the code for the 3d one
          GR3R 8BD6 UT4X

anyways the first two was suppose to be an abbreviated name for the movie and the 3rd was the format.

          underworld awakening UA -
          colombiana - cn for me
          don't be afraid - dn -

I have no idea why you would get an N unless that means something else. Then again the movie is not a word but numbers

          is the first letters 21?

anyways i was reporting what sony told me and so far all my codes matched up. But this n thing is throwing a kink in it.

Nope. Nothing in the code could be construed as being an abbreviation for the movie.

Has your copy of 21 Jump Street showed up on your Vudu account? It hasn't showed up on my Vudu account yet Vudu has where you buy it from them. It shows up on my Flixster account. My code also had a "N" has the 3rd digit but showed up as SD on Sony's website not HD.

The one other thing you can do to be safe is to call sony uv support its on their website and they will tell you what format you will get your copy in before you redeem it if its in question. I think I will do that on all my sony codes as my wait time was less then 5 minutes on ghost rider

No, but I assumed it wouldn't until the street day which is tomorrow.

With "21 Jump Street" you can tell it is SD is if the 2nd digit is a D and HD if it is B. "21 Jump Street is still not in my Vudu account!!!"

OK, but what if you still only get SD? Is Sony UV gonna give you a HD code? We're still suck with lowly SD.

yeah i also confirm that for 21 jump street they did not use two for the name just 1 - I saw 7 codes and the 2nd digit was either a b or a d

my b one redeems as hd

They said my code should have been put in the DVD version of "21 Jump Street" but they fixed it. All they asked for was the UV Code and the UPC code of the movie. Now I wish Vudu had the UV rights to the movie. Notice it still doesn't have the UV logo.

21 Jump Street is now on Vudu in HDX if you redeemed the code from the Blu-ray on Sony's website.
