    Ultra Violet Sharing

It says you can share with up to 5 people, so if I add someones email address will all the movies go into their VUDU account?

    Re: Ultra Violet Sharing

Your movies can only be viewed in SD quality by your 5 people via the internet unless they have a Vudu application from a Blu-ray player or Smart TV or streaming device.

Actually on uv website you create a group of users. The group shares all videos in the locker. If they then each individually open a vudu account then those movies will show up for them to view in whatever you can view them. I have 3 peeps in my group and they can view my HD d2d transfers and the hd copies from bluray redemptions.

The above is correct. I have a family member on my UV account and we can both see anything UV (HDX or SD) in my Vudu account and vice versa.

          @E55KEV

You have some bad info, or had a bad experience. It's a bit of a pain to set up, but it does work. You can add five additional accounts into your UV "family". Then you create individual Vudu (and whatever else (Flixster, etc.)) accounts for each of the five, and link those accounts to the corresponding UV account. It might be more of a pain to explain than to set up, now that I think about it.

There were some snags initially (WB movies were only HDX for the owner, not the family members), but they seem to be getting ironed out with feedback and time.

The website is limited to SD, but if a smart app supports HD, the movie is neither blocked nor downgraded in quality merely because it is owned by someone else within the "family."

            Re: Ultra Violet Sharing

I guess my experience with 5 users has been limited because my 5 users don't have a Vudu application via Blu-ray, HDTV or streaming device and only have a PC to log into uvvu.com and click movie linked to vudu.com. So their viewing is limited to SD quality on their PC.

So, you actually created a Vudu & Flixster account for your 5 users?

Vudu, yes. Flixster, only for my one other family member currently with a tablet.

There's no way my parents or siblings would have set them up for themselves, but once I set the accounts up, they have actually been used.

It was a royal pain setting them up, since the account creations at both UV and Vudu require the account holder (i.e., your family member) to acknowledge an activation email. Since none of them really cared about it, getting them to look for, open, and respond to these emails was a hassle. And of course, once the accounts are created, each user (or more likely, you, using their name and password) need to log in to Vudu and link the Vudu account with the corresponding UV account.

                In summary:
                (1) The whole process isn't so difficult that someone who wants to do it couldn't do it.
                (2) None of my family members wanted to do it.
                (3) I pestered them until they did it.
                (4) Now that they have it, they like it.

So I should also be seeing the movies that my members have bought? My sister who is one of my members used her free vudu movie on Alpha Dog but it doesn't show up for me.

                    Re: Ultra Violet Sharing

She would have got the free movie for creating a UV account.... if she created a new UV account it would not be linked to your existing UV account.

If after creating a UV account and getting the free movie she then replaced it with the UV account you set up for her Alpha dogs would not go through because it is in a seperate UV locker. Currently there is no way to Merge seperate UV accounts the sub users have to be created under the main account.

                      Re: Ultra Violet Sharing

I'm not sure all the free titles you get from Vudu for signing up are UV titles. I got one of The Naked Gun movies as my freebie and I think it is Vudu only. May also be true with the 5 movie set you get for using D2D (for sure not all titles in my set are available on Flixster, yet)

That makes sense. I must of made her an account in order to add her as a member. It's too bad you can't add someone who is already a member.
