    New UV redemption page

Just noticed this. Not sure if anyone saw it: http://www.staging.vudu.com/ecopy.html. And now there "Redeem UV" buttons on their movie pages like this one.

It all looks great, but my only question for Vudu engineers is: would it be possible to add something to that new global redemption page that displays what quality it will be if we redeem a UV BD code with Vudu for each title? Just some way to tell if a title is always SD for redeeming or whether this title will redeem to HDX, etc. before redeeming.

    Thanks.

Found it. It is now listed at the top under "Disc to Digital" as "Redeem Ultraviolet Copy".

I wish this page was up last week as I redeemed Batman Begins and The Dark Knight on flixster.com. I would have preferred redeeming on vudu.com.

            I have codes for

            Contraband
            Project X
            Drive
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II
            Jack and Jill
            Hangover 2
            Mission Impossible 4

but they aren't on the redeem page, any reason why? If I redeem them on Flixster will I get the HD Version?

I did Footloose on paramounts website and I got the SD version

Drive is Sony so redemption is not thru Flixster or Vudu. If Drive code from Blu-ray then you get HDX on Vudu linked from Sony. My Hangover 2 was from Blu-ray and I got SD - it was redeemed on Flixster.

Will I get the HDX version through Sony?

Will they be added to Vudu's redemption page maybe?

Drive is Sony and will add HDX copy to your Vudu account.

That's unfortunately not true anymore. They are pretty good about giving HDX for Blu Rays, but there have been problems. My Artist came out SD. Others have had problems too.

I did Footloose and new Mission Impossible through Paramount website and got SD for both... Kind of annoying.. I could have just taken MI to Wal Mart and gotten the HDX..

That is messed up as Paramount was always giving HD UV for Blu-ray purchases in the beginning. It even said on the back of the packaging that the UV copy is HD (check the back of MI and Footloose in tiny print, they should say the UV copy is HD, at least they did when they came out) but newer movies like "Jeff Who lives at home" and "A thousand words" don't specify a resolution on the back anymore. Its like they are backpedaling and I don't like it. Until the studios get their act together on this I will see UV as primarily a mobile solution.
