WalMart can't handle Disk-to-Digital in Dallas

Took nine movies to the Walmart photo center in Dallas off Northwest highway. The guy tried to Disk-to-Digital 9 movies and it just erred. He tried creating a new account to do it - error. He said Vudu must not be working. I greatly dislike going to WalMart and feel like I wasted a trip and got excited about Vudu for nothing. Glad I didn't take my whole 400+ disk collection!

I posted this in another thread:

Call 1-800-Walmart and file a 'store experience' complaint. If you went to 3 separate stores I would make 3 separate calls.

Note - Don't lump all 3 stores complaints into one. Each call is supposed to get you a call back from the store manager. No guarantees, but many times the store manager 'may' offer you a free Walmart gift card for your trouble. Last week I got a $30 gift card for my trouble when I had to make 3 visits to the store for D2D because the Vudu software was not working.

Some suggestions to get these done with success. If you have never done it before:

      - Join Vudu prior to going to store.
      - Make sure they use email address only or phone number only - never both.
      - Prepare your list from Vudu.com D2D, print it off and take to store.
      - List only the actual movies you are taking to Walmart
      - Don't fill up your D2D list with movie you are not converting on that visit.

There was a brief outage Monday morning - unfortunately, it's possible it just happened to be at the same time the he tried to do this.

I had a similar incident at a different Walmart. The employee could not access the system and said the system must be down. I came back a week later and had the same issue. I then requested to take a look at what the employee was inputting and saw that the system could not access my account. We tried inputting my account name without the "@example.com" at the end of my email address, and it worked.

Most of the Wal-Marts near me aren't familiar at all with the D2D system. I had some old dude today take care of me that probably still uses the telegraph. When a person helped me who knew what he was doing, I asked if many people were using this service and he said no, not really.

I too hate going into Wal Mart. I only do if I have too. My reason for not wanting to go there really has nothing to do with the store besides the parking lot but more to do with I try to buy Made In America and very limited in Wal Mart

What takes so long at Walmart is the employee trying to sign into the system then after that trying to figure out you don't put both the email address and phone number to get into your account. This the same employee on multiple visits. You would think someone would learn by the second or third time. I understand the passwords expire but it should warn them before it does so they can look it up for next time. They need to have the Vudu app for the PS3 scan the discs like the Samsung blu-ray is supposed to do.

Samsung has removed any mention of their players doing that now. Hopefully just temporarily while they get it up and running. I have one of the players and when you click the disc 2 digital button all it does is tell you to take your movies to Walmart to have them converted.
