I finally got THG and VuduToGo to download from my Walmart preorder, but now I can't figure out where the downloaded files are so I can put them on my phone...

    I'm using a PC, Windows 7.

You won't be able to move the files from your computer to phone successfully. What type of phone are you using?

I want to know about this too. We can't put a movie that we purchased and downloaded on any device we want? The digital download copy states that we can do this. It's the only reason I chose ultraviolet over itunes so I didn't have to deal with the DRM. I just wasted a digital download. Guess I can stop using VUDU now.

I end up using Flixster on my iPad if I want to d/l movies to carry around. Don't see a way to d/l to my iDevice through Vudu, yet. I'm eager to see what the great and powerful Dhatman has to say on this.

Ultraviolet's Common File Format is supposed to launch this summer (or maybe Fall now). That will enable you to download SD and HD versions of your UV movies that you can store as normal movie file to be copied around to other devices.

Last I heard, UV is currently testing the CFF format and related features.

Well it didn't happen in summer.
            My Nexus still waits.

So as far as you know there will be a way to move my "downloads" in the foreseeable future? I only transferred five movies so far and I'm very disappointed that they still technically aren't my files yet. I thought Vudu would be a way for me to avoid some of the sketchier DVD ripping software, but I guess I was wrong.

When am I going to be able to access through files I just payed for? Little annoyed that they are advertising a feature that isn't available yet.

I just downloaded Vudotogo and then a movie. I am curious to where the downloaded movie(s) reside on the C: drive. What is the folder and file extension? Thanks.

In Windows explorer, enter "%APPDATA%\com.vudu.air.Downloader\Local Store" However, they are not known file types that can played anywhere. They can only be played from Vudu To Go as far as I know.

Re: Where are my downloaded files??

To the best of my recollection (I've since wiped my drive and switched to Windows 8), the files were located for me as stated in the previous post. However, there is nothing useful you can do with them since they are only playable in the Vudu app.

By the way, what data mining? Elaborate for us. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing evil about this app is that it sucks (IMO).

The files are located in the Adobe Air app data directory. You don't need to access the files directly because they can only be played through the vudu-to-go app. That's because the files are embedded with DRM to prevent people from distributing the files across the internet. When the common file format files are deployed you will be able to copy the files to other computers and devices and play them on any ultraviolet compatible device. There's nothing wrong with the way it works, and there isn't any malware in the vudu app as you say.
