After Disc to digital, what do you do with your movies?

I took mine to movie stop, I guess EBAY would have been better but... I still was able to sell mine and recover the cost of Disc to Digital plus $28.00. Amazing IMO as Movie Stop really doesn't give you much in cash.

I'm not sure if giving up my movies was a good idea or not but I think that is the point with going with Vudu?? Anyone else get rid of their movies or did you hang onto them and if so why?

I've been taking all my DVD's to Moviestop after D2Ding them, because I know I'll never watch them as DVD's anymore (and frees up shelf space). My Blu-Ray's are different story. I'm holding on to them (at least for the time being). Still undecided about those.

Never thought about selling them but may look into it for DVDs. As sbuberl put it, "My Blu-Ray's are different story".

I had all my movies backed up to my Windows Home Server where i was viewing them on my HTPC through the media center app My Movies. So after i D2D i remove them from my server and toss discs in a box. This is only for DVDs though. I D2D blurays for family members to watch and not borrow mine.

Edit: Just did a quick search and selling dvds is not worth the time. Mosts discs that are not new release is about $0.20. I'll keep them for that and wait till the next Best buy "Upgrade and Save" promo and get $5 each.

I don't keep mine either. Out of 100 DVD's, I have sold a third to a used DVD store called Hastings, I have have given away another third to family and friends, and the other third I have given to goodwill.

I just keep my movies put away in boxes that I have converted to HDX and I have my Blu-ray's that aren't in HDX on a shelf to get to easily. I don't like that the Vudu app for the PS3 requires you to have an internet connection to view a movie even when the movie is stored on the PS3's hdd. Earlier today my Charter internet was acting up so I couldn't watch a movie I wanted to watch that a family member, that lives in another state, added to their Vudu which transferred over to my Vudu account.

There are a few good titles here but none i would really pay $7 for, plus you have to spend $35 to get free shipping.

I am just converting to D2D those movies not available on blu-ray. I keep the DVD's in a closet in case I need to prove (highly unlikely) that I had the original disks in the first place.

Another option is to wait until Best Buy offers their Upgrade and Save promotion again. They do it every few months. Take your DVD in and get a $5 coupon towards a blu ray $9.99 and up. That's a much bigger selection than the DVD2Blu program offers and no shipping charges.

When Best Buy does that most of the new releases Blu-rays prices get raised by $5. I have taken the Best Buy ad into Walmart and got $5 off their lower price blu-ray's and I get to keep the dvd. YMMV from Walmart to Walmart.

That hasn't been my experience at all. I've gotten some pretty cheap blu rays including new releases from the sale.

Companies always find a way to make money even if they might loose a little on the promotion. Maybe Best Buy figures those with DVD collections that want Bluray DVD's will also want a Bluray player and have I showed you this nice 70 inch 1080P Samsung TV, that would be a great TV for those Bluray movies you just got and will look the way it should! Or maybe you will just need other stuff while in the store.

I think this hits the nail on the head. It's more of a way to get people in to the store than it is to gouge people. I remember getting a couple new releases for about $12.99 after the coupon codes. They also tend to have racks of $9.99 movies that you get for $4.99 after the coupon. There are definitely deals to be had.
