    Re: Alien films D2D problem...

Anyone who got their version replaced via ticket must be luckier men than I am. Even after pointing the rep to this thread and sending pictures of both my DVD and Blu Ray sets I was shot down saying they need to escalate the case because it's a bad encode. She just was not understanding that the issue was fixed already and the correct encode is the extended edition. I even gave her the post# of DanielH saying that they've replaced the special edition with the extended edition on D2D. I've now just asked for a credit so I can repurchase the correct version through the in home app (the DVD comes up correctly now). I'm hoping she will at least do that since she confirmed it's a bad encode.

EDIT: Shot down for the credit. Honestly I think I'll just pay the money to redo it. It was like going back and forth with flixster CS Maybe she transferred

Shot down by phone too. Wow, you guys super lucky. Though, to be fair the guy on the phone seems to think that once the "content team" gets back to work they will replace it. It's kind of crazy that they are unwilling to issue a credit for a known issue. I had an issue with another movie and they said "here's your credit". Maybe it's all the people calling on this one.

just noticed this with the special version I got too, the ending is cut off by 3 minutes, someone needs to get it together and swap the extended version to the special version, and remove the extended entry afterwards as extended version there is no such thing if they would do their research, apparently no one bothers checking these movies when they are encoded as this should have been spotted a long time ago, and honestly surprised it isn't fixed as long back as the complaints are about this......I sent in my complaint to customer service via email, not that it'll probably do any good....

Sorry about the problems you're having. Sometimes you have to call multiple times before someone will fix it. Also, you might try to send a PM to DanielH and he can help as well.

I closed out my first ticket and submitted a second ticket. This person seemed to agree with me that giving me a credit for the bad movie and having me re-do it is the simplest solution.

I did talk to danielH and he is very helpful. He needed me to empty my cart before he could do anything. By the time I was able to clear it he must have been off work for a few days. Oh well, at least it's resolved.

Sorry that it took a couple emails to get it worked out. Glad it's correct for you now.

mine's resolved too, guess according to DanielH this is a work in progress and he changed this in my account to the current extended version, which he says will eventually be adjusted to the correct Special Version, must of heard from studio that indeed their extended is the special and this will be changed in the future, but when who knows...

Is this special version been fixed finally, I see they are finally offering the Special Version again via D2D when I looked it up instead of this extended version.....which I'm not really happy with as it's not UV and extended is an improper naming for the movie anyhow....pretty rotten either way the way this has been handled, people's extended versions that were offered should have been converted over to the special if this truely has been fixed.....

With the release of the Quadrilogy bundle today on VUDU I lost Aliens (Special Edition) from my collection, which I previously obtained in store via D2D, even though it's still in my UV locker. Anyone else have this problem?

aliens special is a bad encode, they may have pulled it for all I know finally......all I know is I finally sent in a ticket to customer care and got my extended version I had gotten weeks back from special version discs refunded and a credit added to my account and found someone with the theatrical version in which I now have, and I haven't yet watched the whole theatrical version, but it appears all there anyhow, credits rolled anyhow, fast forwarded through the movie.....got a refund for the extended basically cause it wasn't ultraviolet and because of this I was not happy with it.....better the theatrical than no version at all or a bad encode special version....

Sure thing, officer. It still says 153 on the page, but as you can see it runs the correct length when played.

Hi Dan, do you know if the Aliens Special Edition was corrected where the movie would stop a couple of minutes before the ending? The reason I ask is because all of a sudden today, my copy was re-added to UV and Vudu where it was removed before.

Looks like they fixed it even though the product page still lists the incorrect 152 mins. I just played it & now it's the correct length. They'll probably remove the extended edition from our accounts soon since that one is not UV.
