    Amazing Spiderman Pre-purchase?

So I was on the "Redeem UV Code" page and saw this:

    http://www.vudu.com/redeemecopy.html?eccid=383343

Yet I don't find it anywhere to buy on Vudu.com, and Walmart.com doesn't say anything about it. I haven't gone into a Walmart store yet, but was wondering if anyone else knew anything about it?

I was curious about this too. I found the actual bundle page and I'm terribly curious what happens if you buy it now since Vudu doesn't preorders.

This is very similar to the Prometheus pre-order promotion.

You buy the card in store and the Physical copy is mailed to you. You gain access to the movie on VUDU on October 30, 2012. The physical copy is not released until November 9, 2012.

I find that interesting that some wal-marts are already putting those Spider-Man cards out, which I think would lead to some ****ed off people when they realize that they can't watch the movie for a month.

          I know what you're saying.

It is a pre-order though, the packaging does express that it is not available until the listed dates.

Well, since many people are new to VOD that doesn't come through their cable box, I hope it's very prominently mentioned. A lot of people might not realize that digital streams/downloads are subject to embargoes. (Of course, I think it's worth it, but it's a matter of setting/pre-empting expectations.)

Corporate Wal-mart needs to send an email to the stores telling them remove The Amazing Spiderman from the sales floor. They could also program the Point of Sale system to refuse to sell it until a certain date like they probably already do for Video Games, DVD's, and Blu-ray's.

The whole point of the promotion is as a pre-order, as is already done often for physical DVDs/BDs, video games, (and iPhones etc. as well, and like those it's labeled as such. In fact, with this pre-order you will have access to some bonus featurettes on VUDU before the actual movie is available.

Remember, this is a pre-order for the physical media in Walmart stores (which, along with all other retailers has been doing pre-orders for a long while now). The difference is with this version you also get the VUDU movie bundle, available to stream a week before the BD is released.

Just wondering how much is the Preorder? I know that Vudu will mail the Blu-ray but will it come with the DVD?

According to Amazon it will be Ultraviolet compatible and since the other Spiderman movies are HDX when you purchase the Blu-ray so I assume it will also be HDX also.

$24.99 and it comes with the exclusive mask (the version that is sent will have the mask, not the pre-order itself). It's already on sale at my Walmart. I picked one up today.

How does it work? You buy a voucher for $24.99, redeem the code and it then asks for your name/address to mail the Blu-ray to? Or do you do everything at Walmart? Thx.

Can you do this online? http://www.walmart.com/ip/21684069

I'm assuming it's the same as the Prometheus pre-order. You do everything through Vudu. You redeem the code on 10/30/12 and it will then ask for an address to ship the movie to.

I got it. Here's how it works:

-Code comes inside packaging. You go online and enter it now. After the code is entered, you submit your address
-You will instantly get access to a few deleted scenes and a stunt featurette (HDX)
-The movie will be instantly unlocked for viewing on your account on October 30, 2012
-The BD or DVD (whichever you buy at Walmart) will arrive on release date

Thanks for that. I wasn't going to open mine til the 30th because I thought the code wouldn't work til then.

Is The Amazing Spider-Man going to Vudu UV compatible? Because on Vudu's page says it from Marvel's Studio and on amazon.com it says Sony Pictures. We all know that Marvel Studio's doesn't give UltraViolet codes.
