Re: Movies not showing up for my UV Member?

I got it (max node error).
    Following this thread http://forum.vudu.com/showthread.php?t=555281&page=2

I then logged out of everything and closed browser and rebooted. Opened Chrome, logged into UVVU with sub account. Opened a new tab and logged into Vudu with sub account user.

Go to vudu account info, then under ultraviolet it should say "setup". Click setup then "already have account". Then on the next screen i unchecked "link my account" then pressed next. A working symbol shows on the screen then it takes you to your account page and you're done.

Somehow the link process was grabbing the info from the open logged into uvvu webpage that was open in the other tab.

I figured this out while having my UVVU login open trying to link the vudu subaccount when i got an email saying my services were changed. I then went to the subaccount myvudu and all the movies were there. I logged out and signed into my vudu and under my account info it said my ultraviolet services needed attention. I clicked it and it told me to relink.

So i log back into vudu subaccount and under ultraviolet it said "manage" so i then go to that and choose to unlink. Logout. open new tab and log in as subuser and verify no services were linked. Go to vudu tab and log in as sub account. Go to account info and "setup" is available again. I then uncheck link account and tada its linked and i receive no email saying my account has changed.

Has anyone answered this yet? My 5th subaccount is getting this as well during initial UV link without inputing a user name.

I think he means he is trying to connect her to one of the sub UV accounts. So it's technically a separate username/password but still part of the UV account household which he holds. I would recommend contacting UV support in regards to this. I contacted them because I couldn't link a Vudu account to a one of my users Basic account due to permission errors which should not have been the problem. I resolved it by escalating the users permission to standard and then after successfully linking, I moved them back to basic and their account still works fine.

Don't you want your Sister to join your UV account? If you "link my sister's vudu account to her ultraviolet" she will not be one of your Member account. You should link your Sister's Vudu account to your Ultraviolet account so she will be one of your Standard members?

Your Sister nor none of your Members need a UV account.

You should never have to apologize for "My Name Is Earl" references. I miss that show!

Dan, I see....I was not specifically referring to two separate Vudu accounts, but I guess that's how it would work for most of us. I think what I read about movies staying with the master account would refer to those redeemed from the studios directly.

What are heck are Basic Member permissions for if it can't link to UV?
    Stress test?

    Glad it's working for you.

I actually went and read the different member permissions over at uvvu.com, but based on what they said, it didn't sound like an answer to your problem. The uvvu FAQs claim that basic members can buy movies and link to services, so who knows.

Basic-access members are able to purchase new movies and TV shows from UltraViolet retailers, link/unlink retail accounts, view account information and players added to the account, and edit certain aspects of their member profiles. Note, basic-access members cannot add/remove account members or change their own access permissions or parental control settings.
Guess the takeaway is, regardless of what uvvu says, don't have any basic members (at least until whatever bug is in the system gets fixed). I checked, and all of my "child" users are standard.

dhatman wins the Cigar! Changed UV Member to Standard and it finally linked.

    95 Movies loaded.

Now this begs the question - What are heck are Basic Member permissions for if it can't link to UV?

A total on 60 titles show under the "our collection" on Ultraviolet.

Joy and Earl break up. (As it turns out she was sleeping with Darnel aka Crabman")

There is no way to "seperate" or "merge" UV accounts currently. So Earl just deletes Joy as a sub user on his UV account.

By your statment the 10 movies that were purchased or redeemed on Joys account have gone poof and are no longer in the UV locker.

Is that what you intended to say? or were you meaning that the movies shared would no longer appear on Vudu?

The content owned on each VUDU account will not be shared after the account link is broken.

So, if the 10 movies are owned on her VUDU account, and shared to her UV account, he will no longer be able to play those 10 movies once the link is broken.

That is not the case. Once the account link is broken any shared content will be removed.

I can tell you that I have sharing working, with one "master" UV user and 5 "children". The "master" user must log in to UV and create each "child". Email confirmations ensue. Then, each UV user should create and link to independent Vudu accounts.

    So...

Master UV (Adam) ------------------> Vudu Account No. 1 (Adam's Vudu)
    |
    |
Child UV 1 (Barbara) ---------------> Vudu Account No. 2 (Barbara's Vudu)
    |
    |
Child UV 2 (Cliff) -------------------> Vudu Account No. 3 (Cliff's Vudu)

I can confirm, this works. I created a master UV account and linked it to my existing Vudu account. Then, I went into my master UV account and added "children" users. Then, I created independent Vudu accounts for each "child", linking each new Vudu account to the associated "child".

I have added movies through D2D (and codes) through the Vudu accounts of the master, and 2 children. All movies are shared between the "master" and "children" users, regardless of who added them.

Hope this helps, and good luck.
This is how it should work. You may want to check to see which rights each user has assigned. Make sure they all have at least Standard rights on their UV account. That may be the error you're encountering.
