Upcomming Blueray release w/Vudu Digital copy?

I recently have gone through all my blue rays, almost all of them have a digital copy included, but only a small number are Vudu or Ultraviolet (about 35 our of 500, and about half of that 35 has expired).

So correct me if I am wrong but if I have a digital copy that does not say Vudu or Ultraviolet, I am unable to add it to my Vudu account. Unless of course I go to Walmart and pay for the conversion.

This leads me to my second question. Is there any website I can go to, that will tell me what type of digital copy is included with the disc. Although I know many are a fan of Itunes I just do not have the hard drive space, for all those movies in digital format.

Re: Upcomming Blueray release w/Vudu Digital copy?

Digital Copy and Ultraviolet Digital Copy are not the same. Digital copy can mainly be redeemed via iTunes or Windows Media and reside on your PC's hard drive where Ultraviolet DC resides on the Internet Cloud.

Re: Upcomming Blueray release w/Vudu Digital copy?

      this is my findings.

If your talking older movies then most are going to be itunes only.

lately and i'm talking since hunger games. Lionsgate gives both itunes and vudu/uv

Universal gives both itunes, amazon and ultraviolet I would recommend redeeming universal at universal since I have 5 movies i redeemed on vudu and they showed up as hd only and i have a ticket on them.

Warner brothers, Sony are only giving uv forward. I have yet to see any movie in the past year from either that gave an itunes copy.

Paramount makes no sense whatsover. They gave uv most of the year then titanic comes out and its itunes only.

So i guess that movie is the expection to the rule. If your concerned about a particular movie you can find redemption pages for the movies if you search long enough

Fox has been itunes and has yet to my knowledge released a movie with a uv copy.

Also note on universal redemptions you sometimes get amazon as an option.
most of the older redemptions are ending 12/31/12

If the movie is disk to digital and you care about quality the blu-ray transfer for hdx is definately worth 2.00. I've redeemed alot of movies so if there is a movie in particular your concerned about pm me and i'll try to help you.

You can always delete the movie from your hdd if the movie is NOT from Fox. Then stream it if you have an apple tv.
