    Merging Ultraviolet Accounts

    Is now possible at www.uvvu.com

    Re: Merging Ultraviolet Accounts

Now if only it worked Tried with my dummy account and just get error after error. I guess it's a work in progress.

EDIT: I see what the problem is. I already have 5 members under my normal account (me + 4). It doesn't merge your collections, but moves the member in to your account. I have no empty spots to add my dummy account to. I deleted one of my members who has no movies yet, but it still won't let me. I'm sending an email to tech support on UVVU.

If you log into your account and check the help section it says it is live. I was able to merge 2 accounts, just not the 2 I wanted....

So was it two dummy accounts that you were able to merge? or you're primary and one other?

No. I was trying to merge my dummy account in to my main account. When that wouldn't work I created a second dummy account and it let me merge my 2 dummy accounts. There's something about my main account that causes the problem.

I have a ticket open with them, but they haven't responded in a couple days. I added to it today asking if there was an update, but no response yet.

I got a response today saying they have resolved the problem and will install a patch on November 7 that will fix the issue.

on the Merge UV page it says "You will not be able to undo a merge ". So, does that mean that "marriage" can never be divorced? If I merge with Friend A I will never be able to merge with Friend B? Seems a bit anti-customer and anti-choice.

Just messing around with some dummy accounts you can merge account a into account b. It will then become account b. You can then merge account c into account b. So, account b will then have account a and c merged into it. You can never unmerge account a or c from b, but you would be able to merge account b (including account a and c) into account d if you so desired until you hit the max number of accounts.

Thanks and when you merge, does it basically create one account? Not an additional user and take up one of your slots? I may have to create another UV account to redeem a few movies a second time since Flixster limits the redemption to one per movie lifetime. So if I make another UV/Flixster, redeem those movies on UV#2, I can then merge UV#2 into my master UV#1 account and UV#2 is gone forever? Thanks.
