Re: DVD to HDX reduces audio quality

I have noticed this issue, but for me it is an inconvenience that I trust will be improved if not totally fixed in the future.

I will admit, a few times I've started to watch a movie, particularly of the action genre, on Vudu and ended up switching to the blu-ray because the lack of 5.1 was that noticeable, but for the most part, it doesn't bother me for most dramas and/or comedies. The nice thing about this technology is that it is not static and will continue to improve as UV gets more support and bandwidth speeds continue to increase.

I was curious so I looked. I checked a few. All the episodes appear to be in Dolby Digital 5.1. All the 'extras' are in Dolby Digital Stereo.

No, I only go by the specs VUDU lists on their "more info" page, I didn't get on and try it yet (frankly, I am not interested in anything that only plays in stereo). Good to know the quality is there and just their website is wrong.

Re: DVD to HDX reduces audio quality

Has anyone noticed any of their titles "fixed" with HDX 5.1 soundtracks?

I reported the below list several months ago via support, and I know it was escalated to the content team, but no fixes seem to be in the system yet that I have found.

This is my list of HDX 2.0 titles that need 5.1 re-encodes (some repeated from earlier posts on this thread):

Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring
Lord of the Rings Return of the King
                        The Matrix
Austin Powers International Man of Mystery
Austin Powers THe spy Who Shagged Me
                        Austin Powers Goldmember

I've given up waiting for 5.1 audio on the titles I requested fixes on. So I purchased Blu-ray versions of Running Scared (2006) and High Plains Drifter.
