    Contact MGM and Disney

I have contacted MGM and disney studios to encourage them to join Ultraviolet. Here is how to contact them:

    MGM:
    email: comments@mgm.com

    Disney:
    email: contactus@disneystudiohelp.com
    phone: 1-800-723-4763

I sincerely hope ___ considers adding their movies to the ultraviolet service. I have my digital movie library stored on ultraviolet and will be much more hesitant to pay to add ____ movies to my ultraviolet locker. I would prefer to enjoy all of my movies from one library on all of my different devices. I think this would be a great time for ___ and it's subsidiaries to add their movies to the ultraviolet service so I have incentive to purchase and enjoy ___ movies on all of my devices.

Also, Wal-Mart offers a disc to digital program where users can pay a small fee to add their physical movie collection (DVDs and Blu Rays) to their ultraviolet collection. ___ should also consider adding this service to their repetoire. I know a great number of people to would be willing to pay a small amount of extra money to enjoy their physical ___ movies as part of their ultraviolet locker.

I hope you strongly consider adding these services. I know a fast growing group of ultraviolet users is hoping you do as well.

    Thank you for your time.

    Sincerely,

    Andrew Burkybile

Wow, very well written. I was thinking of contacting them also, but didn't know where to provide the feedback. Could others use your post? Might seem to much like spam though if everyone did..

Disney will probably not give in until Keychest is dead and buried. They also make too much money off their classics to give "permanent" UV rights to them.

MGM, OTOH, may be amenable if it means a huge infusion of cash, as they're perpetually having financial issues.

I believe MGM has stated they will probably have to join eventually. They are holding out for now though.

Edit: oops. Got MGM and miramax mixed up. Miramax said they will eventually have to join.

I don't know how accurate this is, but 007 Skyfall is a MGM title.

          According to blu-ray.com: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Skyfall-Blu-ray/45621/

They have it listed as containing a UV digital copy. If this is correct, maybe this means they will be supporting UV??

          Just a thought...

A good chunk of Miramax's output is now UV thanks to Anchor Bay. The stuff licensed to Echo Bridge, though, not so much.

Skyfall is MGM/Columbia (Sony) for the theatrical release, but seems to have home video distribution by Fox.

People are mre than welcome to use my letter. Even if mgm is starting to add uv on their new movies, some calls/emails may hasten them adding old movies to d2d and uv services

I used this text in an e-mail to MGM on Wednesday:

                  <<

                  To whom it may concern,

I sincerely hope MGM considers adding their movies to the Ultraviolet service. I have my digital movie library stored on Ultraviolet and would love to add MGM movies to my Ultraviolet locker. I would prefer to enjoy all of my movies from one library on all of my different devices. Also, Wal-Mart offers a Disc to Digital program where users can pay a small fee to add their physical movie collection (DVDs and Blu Rays) to their Ultraviolet collection. I myself have a large library of DVDs from MGM and would be happy to pay to upgrade them using this program. MGM should also consider adding this service to their repetoire. I know a great number of people would be willing to pay a small amount of extra money to enjoy their physical MGM movies as part of their Ultraviolet locker.

I hope you strongly consider adding these services. I know a fast growing group of Ultraviolet users are hoping you do as well.

                  Thank you for your time.

I did not get any kind of response from MGM. I didn't bother with Disney, though...
