Is anyone else having issues seeing the CinemaNow D2D list today? All I get is a page that says "Here is the list of the latest available titles.", but there's nothing else on the page. I tried two of our Harry Potter movies and it told me they were not available, so I'm giving up until I can check the movie list first.

CinemaNow is so ****ed up. I hope there's a real home-based D2D service soon. I'd be happy to give them my money, if they'd let me.

They gave me the option of hd or straight hd buy and i looked at my uv account and now says standard + high definition. I wonder how they got the hd version and vudu does not have it?

It's not the only one. Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and Young Guns 2 are also SD on Vudu but HD on CN.

Don't understand what CinemaNow's list has to do with Vudu. The file is a list of UV titles which qualify for D2D and the list never stated whether the titles were available in SD, HD or both. They never guaranteed what is available on Vudu and they never would since they're two different and distinct companies.

Dusk till Dawn is not on the CinemaNow_Disc_To_Digital_Titles_121912.pdf that I have.

they updated the list and removed it. Oh well back to the waiting game.

Don't understand what CinemaNow's list has to do with Vudu. The file is a list of UV titles which qualify for D2D and the list never stated whether the titles were available in SD, HD or both. They never guaranteed what is available on Vudu and they never would since they're two different and distinct companies.

That is why the list was pulled. The list is only what cinemanow offers. The only reason I placed an emphasis was on Resident Evil Extinction was if you buy it over there you will get hd rights unlike over here. I disked to digital my Blu-ray disk and only got sd at vudu. There are other movies like that and was trying to get others to be aware of the list being inaccurate.

If you look at the list and look at what cinemanow is selling that is what format your getting. Even if it states you can get hd like it stated for Karate Kid my rights were sd only as that is the only format cinemanow sells it in.

There disk to digital program does not crosscheck with what really is available.

As this is limited to just 25 to 26 conversions in the beta you can fix some of your issues with earlier warner brother releases that are not disk to digital on here but can be upgraded at cinemanow.

I was merely curious at why they have hd access to movies that vudu does not and that makes really no sense to me since Vudu was by far the leading HD online movie company.

Example 1 - I d2d Karate Kid - Cinemanow asked if I wanted HD for 5.00 I selected yes - I got sd rights because they only sell it in sd. Vudu also only sells it in sd

It's not that cut and dry though. I've had several movies (mostly Universal titles) that are available in HD on both Vudu and Cinemanow and I still only got SD rights when I paid for HD. A couple examples are Wizard of Oz (warner), 40 Year Old Virgin (Universal) and Jesus Christ Superstar (Universal). I'm hesitant to do any more Universal titles (I think I just have one left).

I think a simple way to get around the 25/26 movie limit is just to create a second account and link it to your UV. Not perfect, especially if you are using store credit, but it seems the only way right now until the beta ends. I haven't tested that out (I don't have enough movies left to push me past the 25 limit) but it seems like that would work.

agreed that is pretty bad. I can only post from my own experiences. If it states you can do hd you better check their actual site not just the list Its annoying waiting on the phone 45 mins to fix the issue. My wait times are horrendous.

I don't even bother calling. I just send an email to them. About a week later I get a response with codes for movies. At least that's how it is with regular purchases that they mess up on. I'm guessing d2d is the same. I'm not desperate to watch any of my messed up movies in HD right now, so it's worth the wait for me to avoid the hassle of their inept customer service who I know are just going to tell me they are escalating my case.

Ok, your examples made it clearer and I misunderstood your original post.

I guess this is why the D2D service is currently in beta so that CinemaNow can iron out the bugs.

Everyone seems to be having different experiences. I redeemed a title for HD which was only available in SD on CinemaNow and it showed up on UVVU.com as both SD and HD; since Vudu had the title available in HDX I got access to the HDX encode on Vudu. So far all of my CinemaNow D2D redemptions have shown up on UVVU.com as HD.

The reason why each service has different titles/encodes available has to due with the licensing agreements between said service and the studios. Thus not all services will have the same content.

What I wouldn't want to happen is for CinemaNow to stop offering a HD UV rights option in their D2D program just because they don't offer said title in HD. That's the beauty of the program. They're selling you the UV rights in HD thus if CinemaNow doesn't offer the title in HD then you can go to another UV service which does have the HD version available for streaming. And if none of the UV services currently have said title available to stream in HD today you can either 1) still buy the UV HD rights and once a service does have said title available in HD you'll get HD access or 2) you can choose not to purchase the HD option at this time.

I've found the movie list (the link is back, but also thanks again sbuberl), and I have not been able to use D2D on a single disc out of about a dozen that are on their list.

Has anyone done this on a Mac? I'm wondering if their Mac version might be broken.
