    M-Go launches beta VOD service

M-Go has finally launched their Ultra-Violet service. I haven't had time to explore the site yet, I just wanted to alert you.

Another site we can watch our UV titles, that should be good news for us all. And it's going to be available on the most popular mobile device - Android!

This service is unique in that if they don't have the movie/show you want to watch they will find it for you. I like the sound of that.

I also like the sound of having profiles for family members.

Another service- AWESOME! The competition is growing and that could result in lower prices (hopefully!).

It seems like Ultraviolet is spreading faster than Rosie O'Donnell's waistline!

We should all send letters to Disney asking them to join UV.

It's good for UV adoption of course, but nobody knows if this service will really take off. It is good that UltraViolet will finally be available on GoogleTV devices, and built into Samsung Smart TV's though. I created an account, and linked my UV account, but my library hasn't appeared yet. It gets stuck on loading library for a long time. Hopefully this gets fixed before any announcements are made at CES. We still need Amazon to really pump up UV numbers.

Yeah, this launched about a week or so ago. And the UV library issue not loading is happening to most people I know using it. I put in a ticket, and they said they're working on it, and will let me know when it's fixed.

Well Google TV does have Flixster, but M-Go would be the first UV app in HD (720p I think). I have a Vizio Co-Star in my bedroom so I've been waiting for this to launch. The design is nice. Been meaning to rent a movie from it soon and see how it is.

I think I agree, it sure wouldn't hurt for Amazon to implement UV. I actually have used CinamaNow a lot more than Amazon since they have a slick disc to digital program. I haven't used Amazon for movies, except for a couple that were unavailable on DVD or at VUDU until recently when VUDU added "Out of Bounds". I use Amazon more for television.

I agree that competition is good...bur for many reasons, not just cost. I think it can help get more titles approved by the studios for UV/D2D, help to get more studios to participate (maybe even Disney or some of their studios), help to reduce rental fees, and it should also push the development of new and exciting features and services.

A couple of months ago I said that Vudu, and other services, must continue to evolve and I really believe it's true with so much competition starting up and still on the horizen. Each service that starts up normally has 2 or 3 things that are unique to them and this often results in everyone else developing and implementing their own version of the same function. For example, CinamaNow's D2D program is AWESOME and I wondered why Vudu didn't do something like that. Perhaps now they will. I like M-Go's profile for each family member. Perhaps that will push CinamaNow and Vudu to develop something similar, hopefully something that will finally give parents control over what content their children have access to.

M-Go says that you pay for what you watch. I have not signed up yet, so I am not sure what they mean by this. I am hoping this means that I can watch television for less than what Amazon and Vudu charge. We currently have to buy an episode to watch it. I am hoping for a much lower fee just to watch it once, a rental fee instead of a purchase fee.

Netflix is about to get more competition from Redbox. I am hoping that one day Netflix and Redbox will add UV and allow us to access our library through their services.

I'm still waiting to receive my invitation. Which players does it currently support?

According to the FAQ only 3 Samsung Blu Ray players are supported and some Samsung Smart TVs. Other than that it's Iphones and Android phones. I just got my invitation Thursday, so they are still sending them out.

I just talked with the M-Go tech support people, and they told me that if I have more than 100 titles in my UV library it won't load. They are working on a fix. If someone has less than 100 titles in their library, would you be able to test it for us? Thanks.

I have about 70 items in my UV library. And M-Go first successfully loaded my UV library last Friday. It takes several minutes every time you click the UV tab in your library which hopefully they fix soon. They are missing UV rights to a lot of titles (no UV from Fox, Paramount, Lionsgate, Dreamworks Animation as far as I can tell) at the moment. Pretty much half my library is available for streaming.

Since my TV in my bedroom is a dumb TV connected to a Google TV box, this is the only to watch my UV movies in HD at the moment on that TV so I've been using it a bit. Couple times I've watched movies so far, there has been pretty smooth streaming. I purchased one HD UV WB movie from them last night, and it showed up properly as HD and correct title in my UV locker and other services.

My library is finally loading now. This is the first time it has worked. However, it is still a little slow, and has to reload, every time I navigate away from the page. All the titles show up I think, but not all titles have cover art. At least if you have a google TV you should be able to watch your movies with MGO now.

Yeah they fixed the loading issues a few days ago. The ones without cover art are ones that aren't UV enabled. Sometimes covers appear for ones that aren't, but if you double click the movie icon, nothing happens.

The website is slow and buggy, but on my GTV, it works well enough, and only option for HD UV for on GTVs until Redbox Instant adds its GTV support sometime and UV support this summer.
