Flixster has Disc to Digital Beta

Flixster is now offering Disc to Digital. I installed the flixster app to download a TV Show that was UV and noticed there was a Disc to Digital option in the program. This service just like CinemaNow's is powered by Rovi and only DVDs are currently supported. I was able to do a few titles that CinemaNow was unable to do.

The prices are not exactly the same as CinemaNow or Vudu. Standard Def is $2, or $2.50 and even $3.00 depending on title. High Def is the same $5.

I went to Flixster and looked everywhere and couldn't find anything on Disc to Digital. Can you provide a link?

I did see a note in their Help about Disc to Digital, but no detail or announcements. Their Help system is on desk.com.

I see the file size has changed. I'll let someone else lead the way with the Beta.

Is there a list of titles, or trial and error?

The program doesn't provide a link to a list but states. Disc to Digital is available for a wide selection of DVD movies from Warner Bros., Universal, LionsGate, Sony, and Paramount. Television Shows and Blu-ray discs are not supported at this time.

Thanks Blurayfan, I tried 12 DVD's that I'm looking to upgrade to HD and all of them were either "Not Recognized" or "Not Available". I'm afraid that it may be the same case when Vudu launches their home Disc to Digital.

I proceeded to uninstall the Flixster desktop program from my laptop.

A few titles I tried produced the same result, however I was surprised when two others that produced the not available message on CinemaNow worked in Flixster and provided an HD upgrade option. I accepted the offer for both and my UV account and Vudu reflect the movies in HD as expected.

Damn, I downloaded the Flixster OSX desktop app after reading this thread, but there's no D2D available through the current version.

Did they remove it? I see nothing on the windows or mac versions? Where is the d2d button located on it?

There is a link to an exe file on the first page posted by BlurayFan. That is how I installed it. You just click on D2D and put a disk in the optical drive an it will read it automatically. I did it on my laptop running Windows 8. I have not tried my Mac yet. So far the only disks out of the small stack I had were K-19 SD only and Forrest Gump SD only. What is cool is that they give you credits to try it out. Oh and I can actually load my library not everything but pretty close much better than the CN app also powered by Rovi.

Odd. I can't get it to do that. It runs super slow and does nothing when I put a disc in.

Yeah, I installed their program on my PC, running Windows 7. I don't see any buttons for Disc-to-Digital. Just buttons for My Collection and Download. And this program is slow as hell, too...

They almost definitely removed it from the service then. 3 computers and not one shows a button for d2d. Mac, Windows 7 and Windows Vista. You guys who got it earlier must have gotten it before they took it down I guess. The version that it links to is 1.7.1.153. Maybe you guys got an earlier version before they pulled it?
