The Girl Next Door (2004) DVD. Error reading disc. I used Cinemanow instead and it imports as The Girl Next Door (1953). I haven't watched either yet, but I'm guessing they are 2 very different movies

When trying to do the in home disc to digital with Dance with Me DVD (1998) getting a message that reads, There was a problem while verifying this disc. Now if I take this same disc to Flixster or Cinema Now I can to the transfer this is an issue exclusive to Vudu needs to be fixed.

Here are the titles I have had issues with (most are being looked at in a case I have open, but thought it would be worth noting here)

Midway Blu Ray not recognized at all (and this is actually the only movie I wanted to see, because flixster does not recognize blu-rays and my DVD has gone MIA)

X-men origins wolverine actually gives an internet connection error message (the only title that has given that message so far) It was a previously rented Blu-ray, not sure if that matters.

All three LoTR Extended edition Blu-rays come up as fellowship and return of the king (multiple choice) standard editions

Kelly's Heroes Blu-ray from the two pack set (Kelly's Heroes and Where eagles dare) comes up saying it is either unforgiven/heartbreak ridge/million dollar baby. I see on the conversion list, only the DVD is shown so maybe this is a fluke? I have the DVD also, so I converted that to HDX.

Hopefully they can fix the Midway and LoTR soon, I really want those.

Re: VUDU AT HOME: DISC-TO-DIGITAL Bugs?

I've seen a couple people having problems getting his to work on laptops. Normally I use a desktop. But when my PC crapped out earlier this month, I switched over to my laptop for a couple days.

I couldn't get this to work with my laptop's internal DVD drive. Even though the drive worked fine, the Vudu software wouldn't recognize any of the discs. But when I attached an external USB BD/DVD drive, the software started working.

So if you're having problems with a laptop, try an external drive and see if it works.

That laptop does have an Intel chipset. I would download the updated SetupRST.exe file and try installing it to see if it resolves the issue. The updated EXE file can be found via this link:

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...T)%22&lang=eng

EDIT: According to the Sony web site, for your model laptop, it would appear you have version 11.5.3.1004 installed by default. It's been documented that version 11.6.0.1030 causes issues with VuduToGO and it's very likely 11.5.3.1004 could be too. The newer version should hopefully resolve this issue.

Their is nothing wrong with the discs. DVD players play them, even the computer I'm trying to do this on plays them! I also know that they're all available on VUDU b/c I've preloaded them in my account for conversion at Walmart. I'd really love to take advantage of the 50% off offer because I have about 100 more discs to convert, but the crap has got to work for that to happen.

There was an error reading this disc.

You may take this disc to your nearest Walmart store for instant conversion.

The Wicker Tree (Blu Ray). Manually Verify

Also interesting to note. I got the Steve Martin Movie Marathon set recently. It's 5 movies on 3 discs. Disc 1 has the Housesitter/Parenthood and shows up show up as The Housesitter on both Vudu and Cinemanow. The surprising thing is that disc 2 which has Dead Men Don't Wear Plad/The Lonely Guy shows up as The Lonely Guy in Vudu but Dead Men Don't Wear Plad in Cinemanow. I guess the main thing to take from this is that is to check your multi-movie DVDs in both Cinemanow and Vudu.
