Re: VUDU AT HOME: DISC-TO-DIGITAL Bugs?

The VUDU-AT-HOME beta, from the looks of it anyway, seems to have been abandoned. It's now broken with virtually nothing I've put in in the last couple months recognizing at all, and we haven't had anyone from Vudu giving us updates for a while, or even confirming they've been reading any of these posts and implementing fixes. The software hasn't been updated for weeks.

Just today I was cleaning my basement and I found two Blu-rays I wanted to convert. Both are on the D2D list. Neither work. They are:

    WINTER'S BONE - UPC: 031398127765
    WAITING - UPC: 012236215653

That's strange as I just did an upgrade from SD disk to HDX on "The Next Three Days" so it seems to work going from an SD disk to HDX but not from BD to HDX?

I was able to redeem the Blu-ray on 24 Mar 13.

Don't know if this will help but Vudu has a survey where you can leave feedback on the D2D program.

Where can I leave my feedback about the In Home Disc-To-Digital service?

Re: VUDU AT HOME: DISC-TO-DIGITAL Bugs?

One other thing I tried a couple of days ago was uninstalling the D2D beta app, downloaded the app again, and reinstalled. Not much changed from what I can tell with the disc issues however I noticed the digital signature for the VuduToGo.exe file was previously 22 Mar 13, the last automatic update, and the digital signature when I reinstalled was 26 Apr 13. It still shows up as version 2.0.6 in the installed programs list so I don't know if that's just a coincidence or not.

One thing I did notice was the screen for ineligible titles has changed a bit. In the past it wouldn't always tell you what the title was or give you the ability to report it as being "not your disc". Now the screen is laid out similar to how it's laid out when it does find an eligible title such as:

            Blu-ray
            Gremlins [Blu-ray]

This title is not eligible for Disc to Digital conversion
            Not your disc?
There's even a spot for the image of the title but in my experience it never finds a picture and in it's place there is just a little ? box in the upper left corner of the screen.

                      This is getting really frustrating.
Just tried the Entrapment BD (original release) today and it worked.

Hope you checked your order closely. My Entrapment BD mysteriously changes to DVD/SD quality for me when I add it to my order.

Thanks for the warning. I double checked before and after I checked out and it shows up as HDX on Vudu.

By any chance did you happen to add the SD version by accident to the in store D2D list in the past?

                              http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html

If so, try removing it from that list. I seem to recall other members stating similar behavior due to that issue.

Also, what version of Entrapment do you have?

I just tried it again, and it didn't work. I'm pretty sure my copy is the original release (UPC 024543414476). I wonder if different BD drives are giving different results? Unfortunately, there's no way to tell if the software is even correctly identifying the disc. It just gives a generic "This disc is not eligible..." message.

I'd say my success/failure rate is around 60/40. I've probably done 100 discs successfully with the software. But there's been a lot that are eligible for D2D and didn't work.
