    Re: VUDU AT HOME: DISC-TO-DIGITAL Bugs?

    Overall, my experience with the Disc-to-Digital was fine, but here are some problems that need to be addressed:

    All of these problems involved Blu-Ray DVDs and the loss of promotional pricing. I am being verbose to help the tech staff.

    'Lara Croft Tomb Raider' in Blu-Ray does not come up identified as Blu-Ray (HDX) so you are charged the higher fee to have HDX.

    'Underworld' in Blu-Ray does not come up identified as Blu-Ray (HDX) so you are charged the higher fee to have HDX.

    Official email from Vudu Technical Staff said if this happens in the future, to select SD, then send then email with scans of the Blu-Ray box and they will adjust to HDX at no additional charge.

    ============

    Blu-Ray movies that were incorrectly identified:

    All of these movies came from the trilogy packs, so perhaps the trilogy Blu-Ray DVDs were not entitled the same as the single sale Blu-Rays.

    Bourne Trilogy Pack Blu-Ray: 'Bourne Supremacy' and 'Bourne Ultimatum' did not correctly identify. All three identified as 'Bourne Identity'

    Underworld Trilogy pack Blu-Ray: 'Underworld: Rise of the Lycans' was incorrectly identified as 'Underworld'

    ==================

    Additional problem that was NOT addressed: I was converting as many of my favorite Blu-Ray DVDs to Vudu to take advantage of their "50% off if you did more than 10". With the three above Blu-Ray DVDs that I could not add to my initial collection, I will apparently now be charged the full fee, even though the problem was Vudu's technical problems. I know we are only talking about a few $$, but the principle is that I was not allowed to take advantage of an offer by Vudu nor was any resolution offered other than look at these Forums to see which problem Blu-Ray DVDs exist.

    Well, how does that help? Is there a page I have not found from Vudu Technical staff that lists 'problem' Blu-Ray and regular DVDs that are now fixed? Do you just keep trying to convert a problem Blu-Ray/regular DVD until you get lucky?

    And in my case, when BluRays were showing as DVDs, I paid $2.50 (after 50% discount) to get the HDX copy (instead of paying $1 for the SD copy.) And I'll email customer support to ask for the $1.50 refunds. I figured that was "safer" than asking for an SD->HDX upgrade, because if they said no for whatever reason, I didn't want to be stuck with an SD copy! (I mean, I'd rather get stuck paying $1.50 more for those few conversions, then be annoyed by the fact that I was stuck with an SD copy.)

    Take pictures of the discs and send a ticket to support and they will upgrade them. They are awesome about it and it usually takes them less than 24 hours.

    I have the same title in my collection (purchased as an HDX D2D from a DVD) and the VUDU website now only shows the trailer available for playback. Here's hoping it's just a glitch and not a sign of something more ominous to come...

    TV Shows are not Disc to Digital eligible.

    I am very sorry to say that Firefly is not UV, and is also not available for D2D.
