    Re: Wasn't MGM Joining UV/VUDU 2/1/2013?

    I have sent two emails to MGM regarding joining UV over the past couple of months, but as expected I have not received a response. The only email address I could find was comments@mgm.com. Of course I have no clue if they even read emails to this address, but at least they weren't returned as undeliverable.

    It is frustrating that there seems to be nothing in the press or any hints at all that they are even considering UV.

    even though MGM is a financial shell, there has to be a way to get them to start to join the club. This is starting to be annoying.

    Does anyone know of a press release where they indicated they were joining DECE? Currently, the MGM logo is not on the www.uvvu.com site.
    I purchase The Terminator 2 and Mad Max when they were on sale for fathers day @ $9.99 If they had put Silence of the Lambs on sale I would have gotten it also. $9.99 a lot still for something I already owned but I don't hold out much hope for MGM joining anytime soon and if they do VUDU will upgrade them to UV sooooo oh well. I really only paid net $7.99 for them since you have to pay $2 for d2d.

    I found this quote from the Wikipedia article;

    On November 3, 2010, MGM filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. MGM emerged from bankruptcy on December 20, 2010, at which time the executives of Spyglass Entertainment, Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum, became co-Chairmen and co-CEOs of the holding company of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
    A company in Chp-11 or who has just emerged is a shell. The fact that they have not been responsive is not surprising to me. Perhaps they will sell the rights to their catalog or something.

    Sadly, MGM Studios Florida has an address in the Reedy Creek Recreation District.

    We all know who owns that property.

    For that matter, wasn't Amazon supposed to be a partner from the beginning? I haven't seen ANY movement from Amazon on UV... I'd like to like their services and might even consider using their Streaming services if UV rights were included... But, again, haven't seen a damn thing, which is disappointing since they were supposedly one of the FIRST to announce partnership...

    They could, at the very least, add Misery for purchase.

    I'd be happy to get them into regular D2D at this point, given the number of titles I want to have converted.

    Maybe it won't go live until Skyfall is officially released in stores.

    I would love to know the answer to this question as well because I thought the home D2D and MGM were going to coincide?

    Wasn't MGM Joining UV/VUDU 2/1/2013? Thought when I read the press release from Walmart that was the case. Am I mistaken? There are a lot of MGM movies I would like to buy I just won't until they are UV.
Working...
