I didn't know this. I stopped buying Disney movies (last was Brave) because of the lack of UV. If the Wally World discs have Vudu rights then no more Amazon for me. At least the UV rights will be apply upon their acceptance of the UV standard. Thanks for this bit of knowledge.

Pick a retail store. Walk down the movie aisle. Purple UV logo on all the combo packs except for the Disney ones.

Believe me, they know this fact. They will not want to hurt their video brand name by being left behind. It makes too much money for the company for their pride to get in the way. They just simply need to stay current with market trends.

I think this situation alone will be what drives the rat-hatters to adopt UV soon.

    Re: Disney Ultraviolet

This is just my opinion but Disney knows they have consumers by the balls. They will never join Ultraviolet because they know people will buy what they sell on their terms (see Apple). Disney is all about money in the Apple mode and letting people D2D for $2 and $5 is not enough for them. I say this because I live near Disneyland and my cousin works there. The place is absolutely packed every day no matter how much they charge for parking, admission, gifts, food, etc.

Haven't you ever noticed blu-ray/DVD only combo packs don't include digital copies. There's a price increase if you want to have digital copies also. I bought Brave recently and just noticed the combo pack didn't include a digital copy. If you buy the 3D version it includes the digital copy, of course this is more money. Now granted Disney could just charge $10 and $15 for D2D if they joined UV which I seriously doubt.

...but bottom line is people will pay what Disney wants, period end of story!

Ah, yes you did. See your quote in my previous thread. Talking about Disney titles, you stated that:

Some titles that were rent only now have Vudu purchase option. Nothing is still UV so it's only viewable in Vudu which is fine with me.
Are you saying that you didn't mean to say that it is fine with you that we only have the option to buy or rent Disney movies on Vudu? ...because that is what you said and that is what I disagree with.

Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with you being okay with buying Disney movies or anyone else who doesn't own a bunch of Disney movies. I just disagree with Disney not joining UV and making their video library available for D2D so we can convert our video library to digital. In other words I am opposed to the idea that in order to watch a movie that we already own we must buy it again. I think Disney is holding out just to see if people will buy digital copies from VUDU, Amazon, or some other company.

I will wait for Disney to get with the program and make their movies available for D2D or continue to power up the DVD or Blu-ray player when we want to watch one of their movies.
I stated that in purchasing Disney titles on Vudu they were only Vudu playable and not UV so they could only be viewed on Vudu players and not Flixster or Cinema now and I was ok with watching them on Vudu players. I mentioned nothing about buying titles on Blu-Ray and them not coming with UV / Vudu copies, or already having DVD or Blu-Ray's and not being able to D2D them. What doe's my previous comment have anything to do with your response?

    Here, here.

    Well put.
All though if a movie gets released and I like it enough to buy, it will be on Blu-ray/combo set. That will be my first choice. I will not just purchase a Disney movie on Vudu alone.

One date they could announce is May 1st the day after the old Disney Vault closes. Anyone want to hazard a guess?
