that's good, then the ripping software buying, time spent ripping, encoding, etc. Blu-rays will be moot......I can then go all digital and not buy another BD.......That is my goal..

I already have stopped buying discs, with the exception of films that I want to add to D2D. I still have about 25 DVD's that aren't yet eligible. I would like to see a day where most people buy digital media, instead of plastic discs, paper books, newspapers, and magazines. It would lead to a lot greener planet to not have all that waste.

First they need to let us use devices on the tarmac, but that's another topic....

Sure wish we could find out when to expect the new release. Not sure why it's such a secret. UV CFF was intended to come last fall, and they have not even set a new target.

Perhaps in the longer term you can. I'd got 3D Blu-Ray's for titles that aren't available (or are several times the cost of buying the disc), some in iTunes that they can't get UV or Vudu, I've got the rest in Vudu when I can, or it's a reasonable price compared to the disc, or I have it on disc when the disc version is a much better master or is just a different version than what you can get digital.

If you want to go 100% or even 80-100% you're going to keep ripping and just wait however long it will take to shake out to 100%. I suspect it's 2-5 years out. Blu-Ray will die eventually, much like CD (for the most part) has.

It just wasn't worth my time or money to deal with ripping and storing, but there are plenty of people that do. It lets you have everything you want and however you want it, I just couldn't deal with it anymore.

Dredging up an old thread, so we don't forget.

VUDU, any news on this promised release?

The free app is suppose to be available for download from Google Play or iTunes. Have you looked for the app?

No tracker trailer trucks hauling around boxes either.

BTW, if you only have 25 left, you must not be a disney fan. I have about 100 Disney DVDs sitting in boxes in the garage waiting for the big announcement.

I am a big Disney Fan. When I was in the Navy I had 40 DVD's stolen from me, most of which Were Disney. I have 50 Disney titles on my vudu wishlist.

That sound like it stung. Ouch.

I only have three Disney titles in my current Wishlist. I use my Wishlist heavily as a repository.

It is my running list that I add to when I come across a title I want to get at some point. Having it in Vudu is really convenient. There are a few places I could think to keep this list, but Vudu just was the best option.

                    1) Wishlist #1
                    2) Wishlist #2
                    3) Wishlist #3

                        Re: Is it mid-Feb yet?

According to Walmart it was available back in February. Either they lied to us again, or it was available and now it's not. I really don't know because I don't use iTunes or ANYTHING Apple.

Agreed. It would be nice if they could keep us a informed it not like it is a secret. Do they even have the Walmart movie app or page up on Facebook that was also in that press release?

I am not aware of anything on Facebook, but then again I am not a Facebook user.

There were a couple of things made public by Walmart early this year that hasn't materialized yet. Like when the Walmart spokesperson was quoted (twice) as saying that we would be able to take VHS tapes into Walmart for D2D. That didn't happen. I am about ready to give up on that and throw out my VHS tapes!

Communication is probably my #1 complaint, and I wouldn't have very many complaints really. I just don't understand why we have to go digging around to find out if there might be any new D2D titles. There user interface really isn't designed with that type of search in mind, so it makes that a very time consuming task. Flixster and CinemaNow has a list that they provide, but of course they don't add new titles as frequent as VUDU does.

They never said Mid-February of what year.
