Only SD-UV available. Will it upgrade later automatically or double-dip??

So, in particular I'm trying to move much of my collection over to UV and am right now looking at The Orphanage.

It recognizes the disc but says this is currently only available in SD. But the disc I'm using is Blu-Ray, so in theory I should be able to get it in HDX, if you had it.

My question is: If I UV-ify it now at "SD" will the system automatically "upgrade to HDX" (since I used a verified Blu-Ray disc to get my UV copy) when HDX becomes available, or will it remain at SD forever unless I double-dip for a second $2 to get the HDX UV? I kinda' feel like if I pay my $2 which would usually net me an HDX from a Blu-ray disc, It should "log" that I used a blu-ray disc and give me credit toward the HDX when it becomes available (the studio clears the rights for he HD version).

I don't feel like I should get double dipped for an extra $2 just because the HDX version, which I should rightly get for my $2 simply "wasn't yet available" (but had it been, my $2 would have netted the higher def version)...

    Make sense?

As of right now only double dipping. Maybe they'll change later. Some codes auto upgrade. D2d does not though.

Well, then I guess I'll vote with my money and not buy anything that only gives SD off a Blu-Ray D2D... I'll just watch the Blu-ray in the interim and wait until HDX is available, THEN pay my $2 and only D2D items that actually give the full HDX conversion straight out of the gate. Unless VUDU or UV or whatever works these kinds of kinks out and assures me I'm not wasting my $. Granted, it's only $2. But, considering that for many of these titles I've already been double and triple dipped for DVD (bare), DVD (DE), Blu-Ray, I'm kinda' tired of double dipping and would rather just pay a single price and get the full def of whatever I've verified ownership of.

Seems like the medium used to verify should be "logged" at the time of purchase and SD should only be a "placeholder" until the full def version comes available (if ever). Or something like that...

Just my 2c. It would be nice if this was all made clear somewhere prominent, if there's an official policy on the issue, either from VUDU, UV/DECE or the Studios... Perhaps as part of a FAQ? ("Currently, if only SD is available, and you buy SD, you only get SD, when HDX comes available you may have to repurchase at that time, unless policies change"). Seems like at least some kind of discount should apply. Like make it $1 to upgrade instead of $2 if Blu-Ray was originally used for D2D, if it can't be made a "gratis" upgrade (either by DECE content partners/studios directly or as a customer satisfaction/loyalty perk of redeeming through VUDU rather than CinemaNow, etc.).
