    Organizing my movies

Is there any plans for an advanced way to organize the movies in our catalog? I know we can organize by A-Z, Date Added and Release Date etc. Personally, I tend to go in an A-Z fashion, but it gets frustrating in circumstances such as the fact that my movies get organized as follows:

    Batman
    Batman Begins
    Batman Returns
Batman The Dark Knight Returns: Part I
Batman The Dark Knight Returns: Part II

then I have to go all the way to D to get to

    The Dark Knight
    The Dark Knight Rises

Another example of where this is a bit annoying is:

    Oceans Eleven
    Oceans Thirteen
    Oceans Twelve

It would be great if we could put some kind of "franchise" tag on some of these movies, which would allow us to either manually organize them as a subset, or would know enough to chronologically organize them.

    Re: Organizing my movies

I'm watching Ocean's Eleven, and the ordering bothers me, too. I would love the ability to group movies into sets and manually title them so they show in the desired order. Another one I hate to have to find is Pitch Black, I really want it to be next to Chronicles of Riddick.

Exactly what I mean. Similar to the way TV Shows will organize a subsection by seasons, if not just giving us the ability to group in a "proper" order rather than pure alphabetic.

        Re: Organizing my movies

Here is the best suggestion I've seen for this:

Allow us to create our own bundles, or collections, to group movies together however we want. For example, someone may want to create a "James Bond" bundle/collection and place all bond movies in that bundle or someone may want to create a "Clint Eastwood" bundle and put all their Clint Eastwood movies in that bundle.

We would like to see a new tab added to "My Vudu" for "My Collections".

        _My Movies_________My TV_________My Collections_________My Wishlist_

Under this new "My Collections" tab we would be able to create bundles containing any movies or television shows that we want and arrange the titles in whatever sequence we want. We should be able to name each bundle whatever we want and play movies contained in these bundles.

We still need the ability to sort on the website and the ability to view D2D titles and sort D2D titles by the date they were made available for D2D.

Lol, so I googled this question today and the top result was my own thread from 4 years ago.

I take it to mean this issue still hasn't been addressed?

Brilliant idea from 4 years ago. Still nothing to improve the design.

There have been various improvements, but not game changers. Vudu isn't a huge company so they have to pick and choose what to add. Unfortunately the interface is different on different devices. The web interface is much more advanced then the mobile interfaces, or even the Roku interface.

One thing I would love to see Vudu do is an annual poll to gauge customer interest and use that to drive where he money is spent. Taboo has been doing it for years. It engages the customer more and allows them to provide direct input in one place and feel involved.

I will tell you how I solved the issue.
I created an Excel spreadsheet of all the movies and TV shows in my library in the order that suited me best. Then I created hyperlinks to the corresponding pages so when I click on a title in the Excel spreadsheet it takes me straight to that movies page on VUDU.
I also added movies that I have purchased elsewhere (titles which are not available on VUDU) with hyperlinks to the corresponding movie page on those services (I used this method to get 1967s "Casino Royale" on my Excel list).
Now when I want to watch a movie I just click on the hyperlink in the Excel spreadsheet and it takes me straight to that movie, I never have to scroll through my library on VUDU

Also love the idea of being able to create our own folders/collections.

I have over 900 movies on Vudu so usually before I want to watch a movie sometime during the day, I'll start the movie on my browser. Then that night, I'll be able to find the movie on my watch list so that I don't have to scroll to the movie.

Apple TV with voice search was a game changer for me. I have over 3,500 movies on Vudu, so scrolling is really not a viable option. I keep track of the movies in a spreadsheet and I use Siri to find the movie in Vudu. I imagine Roku with voice commands accomplishes something similar.

It would be nice if we could create our own bundles. For example, I would like to create a DC and Marvel bundle. At a minimum I would like to be able to customize the display order so that the Conjuring universe movies all appear together (Annabelle, Annabelle Creation, The Conjuring 1 and 2).

I have had this wish for years. I now have over 6300 movies in my collection. What i have found is the best movie organizing solution is to connect to MA, have your MA eligible titles port to GooglePlay. Googleplay is a terrible interface, but it is also ties to Youtube where you can see your purchases via this link https://www.youtube.com/purchases. From there you can make your own playlist on Youtube and add title there. I have a Marvel/Starwars playlist, a Kids Only playlist and so on. I really wish Vudu had this option, but they dont, so be sure to leverage the competition until this becomes a priority!

Yeah all they would need to do is implement something similar to playlists. I'm considering creating a chrome extension that will fill the gaps. But unfortunately, at least for myself, that doesn't help much since I'll be casting from a mobile device a lot of the time
