Is this the regular 2D Bluray or a 3D Bluray combo pack preorder?

I'm seeing $30.00 for the blu-ray and $35.00 for the blu-ray 3D at walmart.com. Where are you seeing $27.00? At the store? Also, is it the 3D version?

I had no idea WM would take a preorder for The Hobbit 3D edition. NICE!

I might have to make an unexpected journey to Wally World.

It looks like its the 2d version.

FOR THE LOVE OF WALLYWORLD DO NOT ORDER IT FROM WALMART.COM!

This like skyfall where if you order from the .com you get screwed

It came in a pink labeled box for the Anderson vendor but does have 2/26 on it.

              Edit:
It looks like when you redeem it you get bonus footage today and the early stream on 3/12 with the physical discs arriving

Sounds like Amazon is currently the better deal if you don't need early release digital copy.

                Amazon
                $25.99 BD 2D/DVD/UV
                $29.99 BD 3D/BD 2D/DVD/UV

                Best Buy
                $29.99 BD 2D/DVD/UV
                $34.99 BD 3D/BD 2D/DVD/UV

                Walmart
                $27 BD 2D/DVD/UV/Digi Book

                Walmart.Com
                $29.96 BD 2D/DVD/UV
                $29.96 BD 2D/DVD/UV/Digi Book
                $34.96 BD 3D/BD 2D/DVD/UV

Best Buy will price match amazon.com, frys.com, and others starting 3/3/13. But I have noticed that amazon.com normally price matches someone else that is on Best Buy's approved list of competitors except for frys.com. Best Buy's return policy will go down to 15 days for non silver reward members and no post purchase price match from competitors price only Best Buy's price but that won't stop you from pricing matching new price then returning product with old receipt if you don't do it to much to blocked. Target also price matches amazon.com and they 90 days for returns for most items.

Only thing, Best Buy is price + tax, at least in my state. Amazon is no tax. Only reason to get it at Best Buy is if it is less than Amazon at least by the tax amount (7% in my state). Even Vudu now charges tax in my state.

I live in Texas so I get charged sales tax on orders sold and fullfilled by amazon.com but not third party sellers shipped by amazon.com

Looks like I"m gonna fork over my ENTIRE movie allowance for the month to Peter Jackson in just one shot.

I must have the Walmart-exclusive digibook. Too bad it's 2D only because I also must have the 3D blu-ray disc!

The REAL killer is that there are SEVERAL DIFFERENT collectible 3D (lenticular) cards. If there are THREE different collectible cards I'm gonna have to purchase ALL of them at $27 bucks each --

My wallet is gonna look like a Swiss cheese when I get done buying The Hobbit.

Looks like the REAL "unexpected journey" is the one that takes me to poverty!

I wish I could get an employee discount!!!!

                          UPDATE:

Disregard this guy's freakishly oversized thumb and check out the THREE collectible lenticular cards.

Why would you buy three of them just for the lenticular card? I have the Gandalf one and it was going in the trash. Send me your address and you can have it.
