Re: Disc to Digital Title List

I honestly don't understand what the problem is with this software half the time. It says it uses Gracenote, but any other Gracenote device I put unrecognized/problem discs into instantly recognizes them (eg. my Sony blu-ray player). Hell, any time I have a failed DVD on Vudu I fire up CinemaNow's D2D software for (also Gracenote), and sure enough, it's recognized (albeit they're often not eligible over there due to their much smaller catalog).

Vudu has the best online experience, hands-down, but damn, they've got the absolute worst D2D software. Even Flixter's app recognizes everything without error. I wish to heck they'd all combine their efforts to make one universal D2D app, and let the buyer choose which vendor they'd prefer to process them (heh, how about convertmymovie.com?), especially if they'd use CinemaNow's software (with added blu-ray support from Vudu, of course). That'd save a helluva lot of trips to Walmart.

I think CN uses Rovi, not Gracenote.

You're lucky. I can't even go to Walmart.

The Walmart's in my area haven't been able to do Vudu for for 2 months. They're still waiting for the tech geeks to figure it out.

Walmart/Vudu seem to be great at setting things up. But they can't seem to fix anything.

Re: Disc to Digital Title List

I'd be happy if half the movies I want ever make it to D2D. I'd love to see all the Charlie Chans, Sherlock Holmes, Boston Blackies, The Whistler, etc. show up here.

Let alone the rest of the Marx Bros. movies, Val Lewton movies. etc. I think the studios have forgotten that people still watch the older B&W movies!

All the new movies have been relatively recent. Someone needs to push to get the classic movie catalogs finished up for D2D.

Agreed. Universal has tons of stuff that's not UV or D2D (Abbott & Costello)

Gremlins 1 and 2 is coming out on Blu and UV in July. A.I. is owned by Dreamworks.

A.I. is one of those movies with too many cooks in the kitchen so to speak. Distributed by Warner in the US, Dreamworks internationally and then distributed on home video everywhere by Dreamworks. My Blu Ray shows Paramount. It was pre-Disney Dreamworks though so it's still possible it can get a UV release one of these days like Galaxy Quest, Minority Report and The Island (also a Warner/Dreamworks movie).

I sure hope so. I would love to convert this movie. Unfortunately, Vudu doesn't even offer A.I. for sale or rental, at present.

                            Currently only iTunes has A.I.

We need to get Munich, Catch Me If You Can, and The Terminal on here as well. Great Spielberg movies.
