If it's the later, VUDU publishes the UPC for their titles so it wouldn't be hard to verify if a title is supposed to work. They also have an allowMobileConversion flag, but it's in use yet. Google Docs has gotten much better since I originally created the list, but I'm not sure if it could handle the full list of individual discs and their UPCs, but I'll try to put it up there or figure out a better location for checking titles sometime soon-ish.
It's still quite buggy when looking through forum posts on other sites (and some I've personally tried). For me I was able to get Scary Movie 5 and a few rated versions of movies the desktop version gave extended versions for, but not a whole lot more. I read that the DVDs have a better shot at working than the blurays of recent releases which sucks if you tend to buy blu rays.

Re: Disc to Digital Title List

I used the mobile app on Forbidden Planet bluray. Fairly certain I had tried it on the desktop two months ago and it didn't work. Maybe the title was added recently. Just tried it on the box for Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, which is for sure not recognized in the desktop app and it gave me the option for the HDX file on the phone app.

The worst thing with the app is the one and only generic message about the UPC not being recognized and to steady the phone and capture the whole barcode. I'd much prefer a more personalized message. Maybe something saying we captured barcode 193893847 which is not in our conversion database, if you see the detected UPC code number is wrong please try the scan again (Tip: steady your phone and capturing the whole barcode). Bonus points would be if they displayed the name of the movie that wasn't available. We captured barcode 08098234 which is normally movie XYZ, but unfortunately that is not eligible for conversion at this time, please try scanning another one of your movies, thanks for using our service.

Yes, this is exactly what I'd want also. We're prepping to move soon-ish, so I put all my physical media in storage and I only have some recent bluray releases to test. And the barcode scanning doesn't give you very much info.

Re: Disc to Digital Title List

I've had fun playing with the Mobile 2D2 app, but got frustrated after digging out things from my collection that are on this list (old flippers that wouldn't convert through the home D2D) and have the app not recognize the UPC code.

Some I figured out or just skipped for now, but one I *really* wanted to work was Woody Allen's MANHATTAN MURDER MYSTERY and the app just won't work with it.

So fed up with crappy customer service at vudu! Anyone having problems with them please contact me asap. I
Found a lawyer willing to file class action lawsuit. Their mobile app clearly stated same
50% off on 10+ conversions. But they charged full price! When I called immediately I was told it was an error and discount doesn't apply?!?

Customer service clearly misled consumer and there must be many more they did this too so it adds up! Let's put an end to this bait and switch type of crap heaped on film lovers!

Have there really been no new D2D titles added by VUDU in 5 months, or have we just not seen any listed/posted here?

The search function is back, so you can see if your title is eligible before you scan your DVD/Blu-ray.

Vudu customer service has been entirely reasonable anytime I have politely contacted them through the website. You don't say if you were offered a refund, or if they gave you a credit, or if they offered to undo the whole transaction or part. Based off all my support requests, I'm sure they offered you some sort of reasonable fix to the situation.

You also don't mention if your cart even showed the 50% off, or HDX copies for $1, when you checked out. I'm guessing it didn't.
