    Django Unchained not UV?

Is Django Unchained ultraviolet? I thought it was going to be. I have a code for a free movie at cinemanow and want to use it to watch on vudu.

It is supposed to be UV enabled. it just hasn't been set that way on VUDU yet. Most likely it will become UV when the Blu-ray is released on April 16. CinemaNow also doesn't show it as UV. I recommend not buying from CinemaNow until UV is added, they have issues in exporting previously purchased movies to UV.

I can completely confirm that lack of transfer help from CinemaNow. I contacted their customer service about getting two films (THE OTHER GUYS and BATMAN:UNDER THE RED HOOD) I previously purchased through them transfered to UV, as they are both clearly listed as UV on their site. Well, CS said that I was completely out of luck and there was nothing they would do for me as they were both pre-UV purchases. Nice, huh? Long live VUDU (where they actually want to keep your business), and their excellent Customer Service.

Cinemanow is total trash. I just hope when it shuts down I can still keep my movies that were purchased (only UV movies).

You will be able to, UV stores your digital license for life. Delink your CN and you will see your movies remain.

I got a followup email last night saying I could use my original code that I got when I pre ordered from Best Buy. Of course that code no longer worked so I had to call tech support and show proof of my receipt before they would give me a new code. That probably will be the last time I pre order from Cinemanow.

I had assumed that UV wouldn't be enabled until the Blu-ray comes out. I got the walmart preorder which showed up in my account last night but it's not UV. I am not sure it ever will be UV. I will likely have to redeem the code that comes with the disk to get UV.

Not likely, Skyfall was the same way, not UV until the blu-ray was released and then it was UV after that. You will not have to use the UV code that comes with your blu-ray.

After all that has been posted saying it is UV why are you "not sure it ever will be UV".

The UV will not show up in your UV account or for your UV Member accounts until April 16 but owners of the Django pre-order have been able to play it on VUDU since Tuesday April 2nd. FYI - pre-order take an additional mouse click. You click on your Django pre-order icon then you click on the Django movie icon or the Featurette icon to the right of the pre-order icon.

The blu-ray box says it contains a UV digital copy inside. None of us have that code yet. There is no reason to believe the digital copy we got early in our vudu accounts Tuesday is meant to be UV. What makes you think it will, or should, magically become UV on the 16th? Why would they give you two UV copies?

The preorder promotion was for an early Vudu copy - not an early UV copy. It sure will be cool if it suddenly becomes UV on the 16th but I'm not counting on it.

I learned with Game of Thrones season 2 that there is a stark difference between a vudu copy and a UV copy that works on vudu.

Dude you just blew my mind, I didnt even think about the two being different. I was under the impression that once a movie is UV then its status will change and be sent to uvvu. Isnt that how all the other pre-orders worked?

But i understand the whole GoT situation, i been asking the same questions about that myself because my S1 and S2 dont show up on uvvu.

All the other pre-orders have been upgraded to UV when the physical copy came out. There is no reason to doubt that this will not be the same. Yes, that means they get an additional copy.

The will give you two UV codes because no one is gonna open up the product and remove it and send you a used item from Walmart.

Many are telling you from experience and not just guessing. When you get your pre-order in the mail it will be a new sealed BD movie. It will have an extra or free UV Code inside. You are not required to re-redeem it nor do you have to enter this new code anywhere.

With the extra code you can do as you please with it. I'm not going to say you can sell it or trade it or give it away as that is a UV no-no.
