    NinjaGo UltraViolet:

    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7kG...it?usp=sharing

Above is something I found at my local WalMart this morning.

The TV Series "LEGO: NinjaGo" is one my children really enjoy. I was very surprised to see an UltraViolet sticker on the DVDs for both season #1 & #2. I have the complete season #1 & #2 for "AVATAR, the Last Airbender" and had given up hope that I may be able to D2D someday, but now my hope is rekindled after seeing those beautiful purple stickers on a like TV series.

BTW, it is of note that the word "UltraViolet" and "Vudu" is plastered on just about every title. The purple UV logo was litterly on 80%+ of the titles on their shelves. This includes about 30 multi-title discs. One example is all three Austin Powers movies in one pack and with a UV logo. The cost was $10.

Ten dollars is a great deal for three movies in packaged media with UV redemption codes. They had about 30 multi-title products at $10 and most had UV redemptions in addition to the packaged media.

I did find a Bluray Disc Combo Pack of "Lincoln" that did not have a UV redemption, but I really had to look for a title that was a combo pack, but did not have UV as a DigitalCopy method. That purple UV sticker was all over the place.

WalMart is not being subtle about their enthusiasm for promoting UV. Their efforts are concerted, deliberate, and extensive. Walking into the electronic section of a WalMart will be like walking into a UltraViolet cheering squad.

At least, that is how it is at my local WalMart.

I saw the same at the local Walmart. Even the bargain DVD's had UV stickers.

BTW, Lincoln is Disney, so no UV.

Right, for $5 you can get a bargain title in packaged media and also get a UV copy. That is really aggressive pricing they have going on.

My thought is Disney will need to see the writing on the wall pretty soon. Otherwise, they are going to start to have brand erosion, which is something that gets stock holders very upset.

Also, I was really excited to see a TV series with a UV sticker. A lot of us hold TV series DVDs which we would love to bring in for D2D. I would love to upgrade my AVATAR two seasons to 1080p if given the chance.

        Re: NinjaGo UltraViolet:

I picked up I Am Legend ($5) with UV. I also did Wanted ($5) and did D2D to get HD ($5).

I checked the VUDU prices today:
        I Am Legend SD ($9)
        Wanted HDX $14

Saved $4 + $4 over the digital prices and I have the DVD for free. My daughter wanted them, and they were in the bin, so why not.

I go into the WalMart Photo counter to do my D2D transactions. I go every two weeks when I get paid.

This past Friday, it was clear as good crystal the DVD/BluRay Disc selection had changed. The purple UV logo was plastered on an amazing percentage of the titles on their shelves. This was not the case two weeks prior.

Also, they had broadened their selection and are pushing some very aggressive pricing. This includes title bundles and also the $5 bin. These all had the same spike in percentage of the purple UV sticker on them. I would often rummage in the $5 bin and this past Friday when I did, I found about half of the titles with purple UV stickers.

I was also stunned to see a purple UV sticker on an animated TV series. This was the first time I had seen UV on the DVD of a TV series. The spike in that purple UV sticker was obviously a concerted effort by WalMart to kickstart ubiquitous acceptance of UV.

For me, a Vudu/UV enthusiast, it was a very welcome change to see on my bi-weekly trips into the WalMart Photo counter.
