No, most of the time it's the same studio. In some cases you are right. Take Terminator for example. It started off with Orion Pictures and then TriStar made T2 and Warner Brothers T3 and the the last film, Terminator Salvation a fourth company.

Then there are movies like City Slickers and City Slickers II that were both by the same studio, Romancing the Stone and The Jewel of the Nile that were both by the same studio, all of the Twilight films by the same studio, and other missing titles like Ice Age, Spy Kids, Short Circuit, Shiloh, and of course Madagascar and Shrek 2 are both Dreamworks like all the sequels and prequels (even though VUDU lists a different studio).

My guess is that the hope is many folks will convert the titles that are available and after a while say the heck with it and buy one of these missing titles again just to have the entire series available in the cloud. In other words, they may want to increase their sales and see UV as a way to do that.

The Addams Family is missing. (Addams Family Values is there.)

Now we have Rambo available for D2D, but we still do not have First Blood, Rambo First Blood II, or Rambo III.
