Okay, so I tried a search for D2D and the SD version of the original Superman is there. But when I just do a general search under Watch Movies, it doesn't come up. Huh? What's up with that?

There are lots of movies on d2d but not vudu est. you have to use the d2d search engine, not vudu search. It just means that movie is not currently eligible to just buy it outright or rent.

yes, but not if I want to just buy it via vudu. If so, #3 is missing. Go figure.

Anyway, I caught that that one is a D2D title after I posted...

I do not really understand how Vudu can offer a title via D2D, but not via EST.

I have 1978 Superman on Bluray. I did a D2D downgrade on it to SD. I didn't feel like waiting on it to be made available on HDX. The SD version looks okay. Not the crisp HDX I am use to, but still nice to have in the Vudu library accessible via the remote instead of sitting on the shelf never being watched.

Yes, tough choice for me. I usually only buy or convert HDX versions, but sometimes it is too hard to wait! It's expensive to be a movie-buff!

                .

                "Hoodwinked!" (2005)

"Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil" (2011) is able to be put into a UV locker via D2D, but not the original.

I also redeemed SD Superman. I couldn't wait for the HDX version, but i'll get that too if it comes to D2D.

In my UV locker I have: Superman the Movie SD, Superman II HDX (Theatrical) Superman III HDX, Superman IV SD, Supergirl SD (Theatrical) All were redeemed by DVD as I couldn't get it to read from the Blu-Ray's.

                    WD4V,

you have compiled a holistic suite of planet Krypton character based entertainment titles. I am impressed.

The Fly 2 which I liked better than The Fly is missing from Vudu.

The Land Before Time 2, 5, 7 9, 10, 12 are available, but the First one, the only one I'm interested in, is not. With only 6 of them available, that makes half that are not.

I was also going to mention The Land Before Time". Another is Shiloh. They have Shiloh 2 and Saving Shiloh.

There seems to be a lot of originals that are missing while the sequels are not. There must be some explanation for this in the digital distribution world that I have no clue about. It could be just random, but I'm starting to think otherwise. Can a VUDU rep please explain?

My guess, with no work to confirm it on my part, is that many titles change studios for subsequent films. Perhaps the original studio didn't want to do a sequel (didn't see it as profitable), but made some dough by selling the rights to one that thought they could make a buck.
