Last night on my mac, the Convert DVDs page was messed up. If you searched for a movie on this page and it found it as eligible for D2D, it would only give the option to download the new vudutogo software for the mac, even though I already downloaded and installed it. But this is not the case this morning on my Windows computer. I think there is a bug in the new software for the mac.

this may come as a news flash, but many people do not have computers in their homes. Having a retail outlet to accommodate the masses who want to stream their personal entertainment library will be around for them for as long as there is a D2D program.

          Probably you are confused:
          http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html
This is the original Wal-mart assist D2D conversion
This should not ask you download the software.

          http://www.vudu.com/in_home_disc_to_digital.html
This is the new In-Home D2D conversion.

Why is there two different versions? When I log into vudu on my Windows computer, I get the original D2D page. When I log into vudu on my Mac or click on your second link above, I get the new D2D page. Sorry, I don't get it. Plus, when you search for a movie using the new link, it asks for you to download the software (which I already did). Please try it and you will see what I am talking about. Thanks.

Try clearing your cache. It should be the new one. It is for me at least...

Yes, there are 2 different version. The Wal-mart link is still there to support users without PC or some difficulty in using the software. The official one is the In-Home D2D that both Windows and Mac should get when navigating.

Yes, we are aware that there is a Download button available for both Mac and Windows. However we don't expect user to use the web to launch the app once it's been installed. After installation user should just launch the app without looking at the web page anymore.

Okay, my cache is cleared and now I see the new page on my PC. It seems like another button next to "Download" should be "Launch VuduToGo" or something like that. This would be less confusing.

                  Thanks for your responses.

Also an indication of the movie quality would be helpful. I want to know if it is available in HDX before going to the trouble of getting the disc.

                    Thanks.

You can always go to our website and search for the movie to know if it's available in HD/HDX. However playing back HDX on the web has lesser chance to be available on the embedded devices (TV, BD player, STB, Game console).

Yes, that is true, but sometimes it is nice to just do a quick search using the Disk to Digital link to check both D2D availability and movie quality all in one step. Just more convenient. Can you please submit this and my other request of having another button for "Launch VuduToGo" as a feature request for your engineers to consider? Thank you.

Due to technical difficulty we can only offer such a button when you login, go to My Movies and choose a movie to download. That download button can launch VUDU To Go.

Yes, but that is only when someone wants to actually download the movie, which is a different than what we have been discussing. I'm merely saying it would be nice to launch the VuduToGo app for the purpose of doing the D2D conversion. So, in other words, when the window pops up after doing a search showing a movie is available for D2D, it would be best to have a button there on that window that will open VuduToGo so that you can convert the movie.

Anyway, I think we've exhausted this topic. If this can ever be added, along with the movie quality indication, I think it would be a nice feature that many users would like. These features are obviously not critical, since there are other ways to do these tasks, but they would be user friendly features.
