When will the D2D database get updated?

This is too annoying, some titles are still not working for several months. Including single edition DVD only releases. I think the CinemaNow database is better, maybe switch providers? CN recognizes every single disc, including ones Vudu doesn't. Just wondering what is taking so long

Why don't you just use CinemaNow if their's will work on titles that VUDU ToGo doesn't work for? I have done that. It saves me a trip to Walmart sometimes. That being said, there are some titles that don't work with CN also. I had one, Jeremiah Johnson, that wouldn't work.

I'm guessing he wants the 50% deal. Can't get that at cinemanow or Walmart. I have more than 10 discs waiting for the database to recognize them. Hopefully it will get updated before the deal expires.

We don't have Walmart here, so that's not an option.

I would if they had the movie I said CN recognizes it, didn't say it was D2D eligible with them. I otherwise agree and use all three D2D services, depending on quality and availability.

No Walmart? That's a first! I thought they had managed to invade every neighborhood in the country.

To me, saying that they "recognize" it means that it's available in the D2D program. I guess what you meant to say is that the title is available to rent or purchase. Did you check on Flixster?

Not in Manhattan, I remember hearing they tried but couldn't get a store here.

To "recognize," as in to identify. CinemaNow's D2D was able to recognize/identify a movie that VUDU is unable to. CN app properly identifies many movies, even those not necessarily eligible for D2D. So the word recognize is appropriate imho. And unfortunately this title is exclusively D2D via VUDU or I would've done it. Just wish the VUDU database would be updated, the sole point of this thread

That's true...I had forgotten that CN and VUDU ToGo an still recognize many DVDs that are not even available for D2D.

Thought there might be a kludge / exploit workaround for the 50% off deal at Wal-Mart. The carts are linked. So, if you do a bunch of VUDU2Go recognitions and then take in a list generated by the web site w/o deleting thsoe titles from the web site list, the Wal-Mart system won't let them bypass the items in the VUDU2Go cart to JUST do the in-store list. Tell them to "add to cart." When they did this on mine (DON'T let them delete your original cart with stuff in it, or you'll have to re-recognize everything in VUDU2Go!), I had them just add to cart and leave it at that. It merged the web-site in-store list into my VUDU2Go cart. When I got home, EVERYthing was in VUDU2Go, including the titles added to the Cart via Wal-Mart in-store conversion.

So, it seems like if they do it right "adding to cart" the list of stuff from the web-site w/o deleting the stuff already there fro mVUDU2Go, then everything ends up in VUDU2Go.

That was my experience anyway. Until they fix this and separate the two carts, it seems like an exploit to get he 50% off by adding the titles to VUDU2Go via in-store, and then completing the purchase via VUDU2Go with the 50% off.

I think... Still waiting for verification on this.
