Question about Disney Pricing on VUDU

So I was flipping through all the Disney animated movies that aren't UV .... and looking at the pricing on VUDU for them and they seem to average $22.99 which is a joke but that's not the point. If Disney sets the high prices for these movies then why can you buy the HD movies on Amazon for $15.99?

    Example below

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...tv_sd_to_hd_ss

    http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content...he-Incredibles

Not looking to flame Amazon's quality that's not the point really. The point is neither Amazon nor Vudu will be UV so why such a large price disparity?

I agree. I see the Disney (Pixar) movies for $15.99 on Google Play and I'm close to purchasing them. I'd like to keep my movies in one place but $7 a movie might make me think differently. Also Google Play will let me watch the movies in HD on my tablet.

Hmm I hadn't looked at google play yet for pricing. Thanks, yet another reason Disney movies are to expensive on VUDU I just don't get why they are so much higher on VUDU. Maybe a rep will see this and shed some light on the subject.

I think it's time to raise this thread a bit higher. It's been a few days. There are a few Disney movies that I would love to have in my Vudu but no way would I pay that price.

Pretty sure VUDU reps are kinda doing that shoulder shrug thing wondering and scratching their heads.... hmmmmm why are we so much higher than a HD Disney movie on Amazon? Maybe one will explain it in time. Maybe Amazon gets a better deal? Oh wait Disney sets pricing ....

Generally in business you charge what you can get for your products/services. I'm sure there are lots of people that are willing to pay the prices listed. I know this sucks for us bargain hunters that wanted to use our Home Beta credit for Disney movies we would have otherwise never purchased again. Ultimately the higher prices for Disney movies here made me just use my Home Beta credit for more D2D purchases. I didn't want to wait until the prices came down.

Re: Question about Disney Pricing on VUDU

Well it looks like Disney has decided to solve your complaint... by simply removing the ability to purchase almost all of their titles. What happened here? As of yesterday you can no longer purchase animated titles like Up or Finding Nemo, nor live action titles like The Royal Tenenbaums or The Count of Monte Cristo. Plus, many titles I was planning on purchasing disappeared altogether, like Bolt, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Quiz Show.

I really hope this is a temporary problem. Overpriced Disney titles were not great, but not having the studio at all is really a shame. What happened here, Vudu?

Re: Question about Disney Pricing on VUDU

Well, it looks like this won't be a problem anymore because now almost every Disney and Touchstone movie on VUDU is rental only, we don't even have a choice now

Re: Question about Disney Pricing on VUDU

I just noticed that last night because some Disney movies I had in my wishlist are now gone.
I guess Disney didn't like this thread.

Hmmm you are correct, what the heck happened there? Did they strike a deal with Amazon or something? I'll have to do some looking around because VUDU doesn't seem to want to answer these types of questions for some reason.
